Peaugh, I found a non-invasive method to unable the punch gimmick: if you pull the "trigger" of the gimmick, it blocks Optimus chest in position. Just press to reactivate.

@taiter128 I found right now a non invasive way to unable it: just pull the trigger of the gimmick until you hear a "Click". Then the chest is blocked. Just pull the trigger again to reactivate the gimmick.

Hey! I just figured out today via an Amazon review of the boxset that to stop Prime's "rotation attack" function, all you have to do is pull the button/peg out a little until you hear a click. This feature makes posing the figure a hell of a lot easier and a lot less annoying.

I bought this set of figures today at Big Lots for $19 plus tax. It's a neat set depicting the mortal enemies of Optimus Prime and Megatron in their battle for Cybertronian supremacy. While both figures do indeed have their short comings i.e. Optimus won't stop spinning and Meg's one arm kept popping off every time I tried to transform him; they are highly detailed and well articulated. I also love their size and they are nice companions to my Legends figure collection.

They are cool they were the fist transformers i every bought. the spinning gimic is a bit crap but you can fix that easy. Like prime's mode but megatron sould have been painted in his g1 coulors. I got him for about 15 quid which is n't bad. cool.

the only complaints i have against the original g1 and g2 Optimus Primes are that the heads kept falling off after a few months of wear and tear, i have 4 primes without heads (two are all White Optimus') and all of them are the original Diecast TransFormers.

Same here and even on the box the picture show Megatron with the little stub on the front some I think our might have been a factory error so I went ahead and got my screwdriver and reversed the feet so they are accurate the the box(Tee-Hee mah first customized/or repaired figure)

I managed to snag these two for $10, so I was pretty pleased with them... but I definitely wouldn't have paid $20. Totally not worth it.

Not only are the spin "gimmicks" really lame (especially the one on Optimus - his torso doesn't want to stay facing forward) but pieces keep popping off (notably that little top hinge on Megatron's gun arm).

Not terrible, but not great either.

The Optimus in this two pack has one of the greatest/most g1 like robot modes. I love him, except for the fact that mine came without the smoke stacks for some reason. To disable his punching mechanism after you let it loose, simply pull the stick back and it becomes stuck again. Just click and turn his upper torso straight afterwards. To disable it completely I'm sure there's something you can do when you just open him up. I assume there's some sorta gear or spring, just get rid of that.

if you ever get a figure that's missing pieces, go to hasbro's customer concern website and tell them what happened. I got an animated ratchet that was missing some accessories so I emailed them my story along with a copy of the receipt (which might not have been needed) and they asked me to mail mine out. couple of weeks later I got a new one in the mail.

Great review as always, but my OCD compels me to point out two tiny transformation errors; first, Megatron's arms can snap into place if you push them in all the way, thus locking the head/arm assembly into place. Second, and while this isn't exactly an error per say, if you push in Optimus' waist before flipping up the sides, said sides will flip up as you're moving the waist in an automorph-esque manner.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but that sort of thing just bugs me XP
