I've heard that you shouldn't use Red Devil Lye because it contains all kinds of extra additives that can be harmful like lead...and others. Is this true?
is it true that hot process soap holds fragrances better after curing than cold process soap....I want a great smelling soap that lasts any suggestions?
i love the vid. i have been afraid to try it but i think i'm ready. problem:where did you get your lye. i've checked local stoes with no luck and it costs more to ship than the actual lye costs. love some help
Very difficult to find in any retail store anymore because it is an ingredient in meth. You have to order online. Which is ironic since soap makers need small amounts and you can order online in HUGE amounts.
This looks like crock pot hot process to me. It begins like cold process then you cook it after the trace to finish saponification more quickly before molding. Cold process you don't cook it , mold it right after the trace. It finishes saponification in the mold and cure time is longer than by cooking it.. Nice videos
I would add both the lime and the vanilla...I think multi-scents are more interesting in scent - rather than just a single scent. Thats just my opinion tho. Your vids are super ! Thanks for posting them !
random tip: do not use aluminum equipment, it dissolves in lye

I bought my lye at a local ACE Hardware. Lowe's and Home Depot did not carry lye.
