That's none other than Fast Freddie Rodriguez with the awesome handling skills to avoid hitting the guy crashing after the line, check 1:21 and 1:30. He's been racing pro for long time, and still is, and obviously it shows. Crash was probably the guy banging his saddle by mistake with his crotch after throwing his bike across the line
he crashed because he was not wearing gloves, and his wet sweaty left hand slipped off the bars when he was recovering that big bike throw... nothing to do with road surface or psi...
Yeah, not on the road, but on the track, I have crossed the line the winner, just to have somebody go up the banking and crash into me. tTat pretty much sucks!
@Change438 ( Oh they can ride a bike, when you're pedaling at 35 mph and then kick it up to 45mph in a sprint do you really expect the tread to hold up. )
@mrrobedeau yeah I do, I race bikes and that was not a 45mph sprint, if you dont believe me just check the race results yourself, they include speed. Even if it was that was a really unskillful rider
I'm more impressed w/ the rider behind him in black and yellow that managed to lock up his rear wheel and drift out the way to avoid the guy and his bike. 1:21 and 1:30 have good views of it.
Nope. He wanted to lunge the bike forward but his hands were sweaty. So he accidentaly let go of the steer. Poor Eric. Now he has an ugly scar on his knee.
wow i thought Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwin occasionally getting riders confused was bad, the guys commentating don't even pretend to know the names of the riders or teams not associated with Rock Racing.
ERIC ! he's so awesome , im glad he won <3

He threw his bike out too far and lost control since most of his weight was over the back wheel. Blood, sweat and tears.

He won by Lord Voldemorts nose.

Why does he crash at 47 seconds? There is no one bumping him and his bike looks ok before he goes down.

Why did they pick a 12 year old boy as commentator? I asume it's not a women since this is a sport event..

jesus this is like the fourth crash i've seen on you tube at this crit, are the roads really that bad or do people just need to learn to ride bikes?

Personally looks to me like he lost balance after he lunged the bike forward.
But still could of been alot worse if there were more riders closer to him.

Looks like the wheel jerked to the right of the rider. Did the headset unsrewed because of the stress from the attack? or did the fork snapped?
