  • How old were the kids making this? This is actually quite good.

  • I'm just getting into playing guitar, and this is the type of shoegaze/post-rock I want to make.

Now all I need to know is how to make those wonderful sounds with pedals and what kind etc.

  • This is just amazing. I hope I can find someone who's willing to do some shoegaze/post-rock jams when I get my new guitar soon lol.

  • I can never get enough of this tune, it's beautiful

  • 3 years after I first heard it, this is still my favourite Youtube vid. So awesome.

  • This is so beautiful

  • gimme your babies!

  • Geez you guys kill it

  • drum is too loud !!! :(

  • Dude great job to both of you, you guys sound great. Do you by any chance remember what kind of gear you were using?

  • haha, my shoegaze strat is also stickered up!!

  • Whoa i was expecting this to be really gay but it's actually pretty good.

    Galaxie 500 ftw

  • that's it, the purest form of music = emotions

keep up the good work, live the music

  • i got the same peppers poster

  • haha! today is the day i find out the name of this technique! ... i love Dredg who used this a lot on their Catching Without Arms album...

  • Nice custom decoration job on the Strat. I have one similiar that I call my Rat-o-caster...its got paint on it and stickers and nail polish...it's good to decorate your guitar the way you want and be yourself. Cool song.

  • the beginning sounds like Helicon 1 by Mogwai, i think this is more post rock than shoegaze, but i'm not a big fan of using genre names to pidgeonhole music tbh

it's very nice, but once the drums get into full swing, it's very hard to hear the guitar.

what equipment does Paul use? I'm guessing either a Fender or a Squire guitar, some reverb and delay, but that's about it

keep up the good work guys!

  • i just really love this

  • Wow, that's really good! I wish I could jam like that :D What kind of equipment do you use?

  • your myspace link doesnt work

  • @birinbirinbirin that is because the myspace is no longer active...

  • @naooki ohh thats to bad are you guys still doing the shoegaze band? you should go through with it i love shoegaze and would support you guys

  • @birinbirinbirin we don't anymore...

we are residing in different countries right now, in which I'm pursuing a whole serious career as a drummer now :)

thanks for the kind words anyways

  • @naooki welll good luck! =) are you playing for any bands now? and how did you guys discover shoegaze?

  • @birinbirinbirin well...

    it just came...

Paul presented to me this album of Explosions In The Sky, that and many other shoegaze/post rock bands... My Bloody Valentine, Mogwai...

But i've always been more leaned towards the Progressive Rock, punk, Alternative Rock... Now I'm listening alot to Tortoise and Lymbyc Systym, which are more minimal Post Rock bands...

And in general, I just enjoy alot of musical genres...

Jazz, Techno, House, R&B, Pop, Rock, and latin styles aswell :)

  • Paul and Naoki rock! You guys are way better than Wyld Stallyns.

  • awesome...omg just awesome !

  • that first riff wasn't improvised, you already had that.

  • good work.

  • mmm... sounds more like post rock

  • well, it's the Shoegaze instrumentation with a Post Rock composition.

  • good stuff here

  • Wow, hella solid work you guys are doing here. Goddammit I'd like to find a drummer to do some shoegaze jammin' with. Lately I've been busting out some really cool stuff in Open A, and I really, really want to play with someone else crunching out all these riffs I've been formulating...

  • This is great. Only two suggestions:

    1. Get one or two more different crash cymbals. Hearing the same tone of the cymbal over and over again gets a little annoying.

    2. Find a bassist, and get in a studio!

    This stuff is solid.

  • If the white stripes have shown us anything you only need a two members to make a band.

And if these guys have shown us anything it's that it only takes two members to make a fucking amazing band.

  • well done kids. Its refreshing to see young talented kids playing good music.

  • I wish I knew people who'd be willing to play stuff like this

  • @LostBlossom

All you have to do is meet your nearest stoner!

  • i'm a fan..you reaaaallly got it

  • muy bueno, felicitaciones.

  • good good good!!!

  • great stuff guys, you play better than some of the bands ive heard in and around manchester. keep it up, youve got so much potential...fuck, id by a copy of your demo tape.... if i had a job

  • both of you play very nice but i cant stop thinking how much better it would sound with bass and a proper recording

  • would love some chords or tablature to learn!

  • Wow, really impressive.

  • Damn! Very good! Has no more myspace?

  • i hope you're being sarcastic...

  • yeah lol, it's a joke. like the name My Bloody Valentine sounds like Bullet for my Valentine lol

  • <.< I can't believe you got -1 for that.

Some people here fail at understanding humour.

  • i'm glad you get me lol

  • I am in serious envy of your talents. Beautiful, moving, and so terribly dynamic and urgent all at once. Phenomenal :D

  • fuckin a, mate...

  • fucking beautiful

  • Why do people watch my garbage when they could be watching this?

  • you must record more that kind of stuff ! great!

  • so intense - like johnny greenwood

  • sounds good, although I can't tell if you're actually gazing at your shoes!

  • whoa.raw shoegazing at its best.nice jamming

  • what pedal effects do you use on your guitar? great jam by the way!

  • this is fucking intense son. how old r u guys, cuase this is some professional state of the art shoegazin man. keep it up

  • Comment removed

  • Nice jam, sounds like EITS or Saxon Shore or something.

  • Why's that?

  • thats awesome

  • woah, that's great, sometimes the guitar get's too loud because of the recording, but I found it amazing

  • This is pretty rad, keep doin et

  • wow you guys sound really good.

  • How old are you guys? I think it's awesome that you play this kinda stuff. Keep it up.

  • WTF?

  • naoki makes me wanna learn drums, god i love this song/improv

  • Fully improvised! no way, how long you been playing? like 2 hours?

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! These guys are good.

  • He's right. studies show that drummers with short hair have the advantage in drum-a-thons.

  • Sweet!

  • Una pregunta: que amplificadora, guitara y pedales usan?

  • This is made of win.

  • Cool cool, sounds absolutely cool.

  • I hope you will have the possibility to record.

Truly, amazing music. It is a crime against the world to not give you and many more wonderful musicians the chance.

  • we started the project with some demos, you can check on them on the myspace! :D

  • WOOOhoo nice Job Naoki that was Cool

    Remi

  • wow! is tht reni on drums? keep it up.

  • who?

    no...

    its me lol

  • reni frm the stone roses. lol. keep it up again.

  • naoki owns the place :D

  • thanks alot! =D

  • sounds very.... MBV. But also not. but kind of. I love it. If/When you record this, get the drums really distorted like record it in a garage made of all metal or in a hardwood floored room. This could sound very good.

  • yeah we could try that, but by now it is not possible because of the distance in between the 2 of us...

i'll keep that in mind anyways

  • well bands like limp wrist record their stuff all over the states so you could just record it in two different areas and send it to eachother. I'd definitely buy you're album. I'm a sucker for duos. But trios are where it's at. Get a bassist for sure. :)

  • Awesome job, guys. I really dig what you've got here.

  • wow guys, really really fucking impressed... i'm trying to start a shoegaze band right now, and you guys just completely changed my perspective on what is and is not possible. i love the emotive drumming. wouldn't be the same without it.

  • yo this sounds amazing. keep it up.

    what effects/pedals are you using?

  • most probely delay pedal and reverb pedal also a bit of fuzzy distortion pedal

  • good sound, if this was random you are really on to something.

  • Good job, it's nice to see younger players attracted to shoegaze.

  • Wow, I didn't think anyone else my age or younger liked shoegaze, and here I was thinking I was some kinda young fogey...

  • awesome shoegaze, i was so close to tears...

  • you could check out the myspace demos

  • thanks to all the folks out there who apreciated our music so far...

Now i just moved to Chile to study Music and Sound at the UNIACC university, so soon enough (i hope) i will begin a serious project with a friend...

Once again, thanks to all of you who enjoy good music :D

  • Very, very good.

  • Nice i really like this!!

goddamn! you two should join together... maybe find a base and freaking record a demo or something cuz this rocks!!

  • Where you guys from, cuz i think i can toss in a bass line for you.

  • they were from Canada but now Naoki is in Chili so it will be pretty hard to play with them :D

  • This is amazing!

Love your shirt as well haha!

  • Interesante, me agrada. De donde son?

  • drummer comes from Bolivia and the guitarrist from Cambodia :P

  • Nice. That really sounds nice. Sounds like early Pale Saints. What's your guitar run through? An effects pedal?

  • is it cool to proclaim shoegaze?

  • yes.

  • Van por un excelente camino, suena muy bien!

  • This is amazing.

I bet it's sound even better with a better camera, still awesome none the less.

This is like the perfect mixture of post-rock and shoegaze. Which is what I really dig.

    shame youre not together anymore...

    great shoegaze,loved it!

  • You guys are awesome - for a spontaneous set that is just gorgeous.

  • niiice, very nice

  • what pedals did you use?

  • nice. very nice.
