I'm from holland, what do you need in the usa to build your own fireworks? some kind of licence..maybe.....? are you allowed to fire them any time you want? In Holland it's extremely illigal to build your own fireworks... unless you have a pyro degree wich cost you 6 years..... and still than, you can;t just build your own fireworks...rules rules....:( ofcource we don't have much open space in holland, as you do in America. wich state do you live? Thanks, Robert
A license is not needed to build fireworks, but it is needed to transport, store, and in some cases to fire them. In Michigan where I live fireworks may only be used with a permit, which MPAG acquires for each shoot.
Offcourse it is illegal but thats makes it alot more fun. I dont know if you already know this account: yellowcard299. I am almost sure its a dutchman who makes his own shells you can ask him maybe he knows.
As soon as I can get the gun to him. I had it built adn in the truck when work called and forced me to cancel my plans of going to the shoot. I am sorry to all.
Woohoo go michigan its fuckin cold here

It sucks to live in holland, the proffessionals cant even shoot fireworks greater than 3 inch... so the shows really suck :/

are these manufactured salutes? the camera doesnt do it justice it seems. nice vid.
TheBombBros 2 years ago
Yes, they are.
Nighthawkinlight 2 years ago
Very nice salutes.
Tantalpyro 2 years ago
Hmm, was it KClO4:Al flash powder in the salutes?
AllPyrotechnics 2 years ago
Yes. These were commercially manufactured salutes.
Nighthawkinlight 2 years ago
@Nighthawkinlight okay i wanted to make sure. handmade salutes have much more punch to them. i forgot to type commercially in there. thankyou
TheBombBros 2 years ago
So, is it 100g per shell? (I'm used to hear that amount)
AllPyrotechnics 2 years ago
That varies depending on the manufacturer.
Nighthawkinlight 2 years ago
that was awesome, but looked a little too cold.:)
Blissbomb2 2 years ago
So these are just normal salutes shot during the day?
In Italy they shoot daylight salutes but they have coloured smoke stars or black smoke. So more of a sight and sound event, then just the sound.
eveningniteshade 2 years ago
I like the guys in turnout gear, not only safer but helps with the cold.

phil1692 2 years ago
Unfortunately not. I am yet to fire any of my own shells at an MPAG shoot.
Nighthawkinlight 2 years ago
And what about your big ass one that you were making a tutorial with?
phil1692 2 years ago
I was unable to fire it at this shoot. It will have to wait until the next
Nighthawkinlight 2 years ago
everyone is saying it would be better at night but salutes are pretty amazing during the day too
theartilerysheller1 2 years ago
this is stupid, i really think this is a waste to use it in day time
chrisogmartine 2 years ago
This was for shooter training, daylight was a must. There will be plenty more seen at night in upcoming videos.
Nighthawkinlight 2 years ago
It was for a PGI training course. Daytime shooting is a must.
strobingthunder 2 years ago
No, they're called DAYTIME salutes for a reason dipshit!
VMFA115Starloric 2 years ago
its not a waste.. if you didn't practice at daylight the shooters would surely mess up at the show and that would be a waste.
moosey333 2 years ago
all the ice around that place makes it sounds really cool. the echo of it is nice :) i wanna see it nighttime :)

Barring yet another unforeseen delay, the next MPAG shoot in early spring. I am unsure of the exact date as of yet.
Nighthawkinlight 2 years ago
@Nighthawkinlight
Hope the stars dont go bad... If they contain any hygroscopic chemical I think they would...
BTW I know one break contains salutes and one some sort of stars... Wich stars do you use, and what's the third break? Bottom shot?
I bet it's annoying to have the shell laying around and know you can't fire it....
Better luck next MPAG shoot...
Pyrotecnican 2 years ago
The stars will not go bad. I store shells in sealed containers containing calcium chloride to deal with any moisture.
First break contains a ring of 2" shell inserts, second, tigertail and ammonium perchlorate purple, third a ring of salute inserts.
Nighthawkinlight 2 years ago
@Nighthawkinlight
Clever idea! I think I'm going to buy some CaCl2 tomorrow...
Nice effects...! Can't wait to see the launch...!
