it's never really settings, it's more of the idea of having control. I'd ask what distortions or overdrive if he was using. I for one use distortion and then back it up with an over drive on the clean channel, and you can really come close to anything you want.

in new to the guitar..been playing about a month..and when i play power chords on the 5th n 6th strings i get a lot of unwanted fuzziness and overdrive.

its not particularly loud and the gain is on about 8 but when i turn the gain down i lose the rock sound i need to play this kind of music.

its my 1st guitar so its a beginners one and so is the amp but there must b some way i can change something on it surely..would be great if someone could tell me

Can you give me an approximate idea of the controls? I use a Mesa Road King II, a Boss GT-10 and my guitar is an ESP KH-2 Vintage. I also use an external wah unit (standard Crybaby) and an Ibanez Weeping Demon. Thank you man.
