@dragonfire2000ful their kids went to jail beacause of griff tannen ( biff tannens grandson) gets martys son ( marty mc fly jr) to rob a place and then martys daughter ( marlene mcfly) trys to rescue marty mcfly jr and goes to prison!
The sad thing is that Marty cloths have not changed over the the last 27 years, all he needs to do is get rid of the suspenders, button that shirt and take it out of his pants and he will fit in within this time line. Doc on the other hand looks like he escaped being an extra from a Lady Gaga video.
Maybe I'm not really noticing it because I'm on a mobile device but why isn't the DeLorean frozen after completing its time jump? It just seems to be kind of smoking a bit.
I like the part where they have to back up because they don't have enough road, where the road is longer than the parking lot at the beginning of the film.
@sporgie84 cause they have gone forward 30 years and the world has carried on, point is young Marty and young Jennifer were the ones that didnt belong in the future
Can you help me out with something, please? Over the weekend, my friends and I watched sci-fi dealing with time travel and alternate dimensions and we saw this trilogy along with Timecop. Well, somewhere out of the blue, we got into this huge-ass debate about whether or not traveling into the future is possible after watching part 2 and comparing it with Timecop's theories on time travel. Neither team can hit a conclusion and we're at our wits end debating this...
Yes, but to avoid causing paradoxes, they would probably encase themselves in some kind of "temporal shield" that would let them visit, but not interact with anything. We just cannot SEE them, is all.
@Yonkage u make perfect sense. The only flaw i could foresee is ; if they are clever enough to create a time machine, at some point someone would inevitably breach that temporal shield, either by mistake or simply out of built up curiosity. Even the greatest of mind is susceptible to temptation. I mean imagine, being able to change THE future. Who wouldnt want to do that. Just like Marty was, when he bought that Sports Almanac to bring back to the present.
It depends a great deal on how time-travel would actually work. Would altering the events of the future cause a paradox? Create a completely different timeline?
More to the point, it's impossible because the amount of matter in the universe is finite; matter cannot be created. If you send matter back in time, you're increasing the amount of matter in that point of time by that amount, doubling all of the particles that already exist somewhere else in the universe.
@Yonkage true, matter cannot be created but ur not creating 'new' matter by being there. U've only displaced existing matter. It then becomes a type of time-travel juggling act, balancing the displaced matter. According to Einstein the universe could probably handled it, because of his theories and beliefs of existing parallel universes. I think it could be done (Man, i need a girlfriend).
Tehcnically, you are doubling old matter. All the atoms that made up that person from the future already existed in the universe before he was born, as parts of plants and animals that died and fertilized new plants and animals that he ate which built his body, as the ovum inside his mother's ovary which created him. As water vapor and oxygen in the atmosphere which he breathes in at some point. The matter he is made of had to come from somewhere.
@Yonkage, Time-travel was affected later in Back To The Future Part II when Marty McFly, Doc. Brown, Einstein, and Jennifer Parker left 2015 with Old Biff getting information that the Delorean was a time vehicle. Old Biff also, found out that the Grey's Sports Almanac was a book the one could gain knowledge of different sporting events and make bets on games win the bets and gain great wealth. 1955 Biff Old Biff's twin younger self changes history and the present 1985 is corrupt and violent.
@fortesque yeah, but imagine you witness them go into the future like Doc did in 1955. since they're traveling through time, the world should carry on without them, like they go missing or disappear
@fortesque actually the real reason why their counterparts are there is because...well first consider they ULTIMATELY get back to their original timeline, then it's all based on their actions that lead to their counterparts in their future. Put it shortly...watch Part II & Part III.

@redplague888 Hawkins famously said, 'if time travel were possible, we'd be visited by our future selves by now'
Personally id like to think that it will be possible in the near future- hopefully by 2015.
