This was my favorite mission in Mass Effect 1. I remember finding the Colossus light armor and tons of useful upgrades, with no shortage of enemies. The music really helped create quite the atmosphere. Fond memories of killing Geth and Korgan with Wrex and Tali.

u know, i'd kinda like if there was a set amount of time to accept a certain mission. like if u were given a rescue mission by hackett but did something else first then the hostage would die. i think it would give another sense of urgency.

Every once in a while, there's a rare magic moment in game when soundtrack, game play, and story align in sync and make for a moment of unforgettable immersion. Running through gunfire on Virmire to this track was one of those rare moments for me.

If I'm not mistaken, I can hear your cross transitioning edit from 1:05 - 1:18 and a bit of a rugged splice at 2:03, but I don't think anyone would really notice unless they were trying to. However, being someone who does a lot of video and audio editing, I listen for those kinds of things. Still, it's a great mix! I love this track. I love the musical scoring to this whole series. Jack Wall is a brilliant composer. I can't wait to see what he has to offer us in ME3!

One of the better tracks in the first game. Although it is called "Virmire Battle" and it did make that mission more exciting, I must say that as a result of this first being played during the rush to rescue Tali, that's what I usually associate this track with, not Virmire.

Awesome either way though. Just wish she was "available" in the first game ;)

Yea, a real shame it's not in the OST. In my opinion, this is the best track of the whole game, not counting the credits song.

I could probably say that the Mass Effect the original is better than Part 2, because of these kinds of tracks. Just awesome futuristic songs. Mass Effect 2 had just basic action movie tracks, and though they were good, they don't compare to ME1 OST tracks.

bioware shoulda did what this guy did, and just made a raw track for the ost :(

The bulk of the work was trying to get the transitioning just right. Also tried to make the looping sound seamless. I figured this would sound better than separate 1 minute long clips with the original versions.
