  • Are you a space nerd like me? Did you know that Obama, Gingrich, Romney, Santorum and Paul all agree to discontinue the space program??? Did you know that Michele Bachmann wanted to continue the funding for space exploration and revive the Shuttle program????? How do you vote? I vote for American greatness like our ancestors always have..

  • This IS something to get nerdy about. BTW, how can one tell if a comet is Japanese?

I remember comet Hailbop in 1995 or 96. I was living in a tent on a beach in California and was able to stare at it every night for what seemed like weeks! It was a very bright comet. Unforgettable!

  • I had to sit thru a L'Oreal commercial for this???

  • W.T.F. IS STEVEN TYLERS TWIN DOING HERE!

  • Megan...I think I'm in love!!!

  • hello there lovely girl.

  • I just got serious problems to get rid of the feeling that you take the piss out of some very serious people here on YT.

How could you ever think of daring...

  • Whoa. Why do I get the feeling that you are trying to seduce men. I mean you point out that you are in a bathroom in the beginning and in the end you offer to teach people how to bath while wearing some seductive outfit. it makes me feel like I'm being played lol. Anyone else get this feeling? Just wondering. Does this get you more channel views? Im a fucking dude and I see through this. Oh well........ Watch Syria. When you see Damascus fall get ready. Shit is bout to get real. God Bless.

  • December 25, 2011 Northern Cross stands upright. Visible in Hawaii, or the southernmost parts of Texas or Florida for those of us in the U.S.

  • BTW, LoveyJoy survived and is continuing its journey!

  • What are those eyes girl, are you on medication?

  • Lovejoy flew only 140,000 km over the stellar surface..... and lives

  • too cute!

  • Where do you live? I need to give you a massive facial...

  • nice to see the young crowd getting excited about sciency stuff!! I saw Halley's comet in 1986, it wasn't so great, but I saw it with my own two eyes :-D

  • o tyo mata facker

  • weren't you in that old film called the exorcist

  • Great Vid.. I am following the comet Lovejoy on the SOHO observatory. It is now coming into view on LASCO C3.. I will send you a vid..

  • I hope we get to see it!!

  • watchout!! there is a bear behind you!

  • Your sweet!!!

  • Spaceweatherdotcom says we wont be able to see it.):

  • Megan, you made me so happy to see someone, who likes astronomy as much as me. I have seen most of the big Comets, since I'm Old, like Haley, and the rest...Do you know there are comets that can be seen ... all the time? Nasa, track all 8,000 of them for you and asteroids...have a great day, and I hope you seen the comet before it hits the sun...

    Michael

  • I read that these sungrazers can reach speeds of around 1 million miles per hour.

  • Actually it's an unusually small comet (perhaps 200 meters across) and it is more likely to not be visible in daylight at all (though there is a chance that it will be). Regardless it will be near the sun in the sky so caution is advised in attempting to see it. BE VERY CAREFUL if you point your telescope towards the sun - you can seriously damage your eyes. I will be attempting to detect it, weather permitting. I have seen approximately 90 comets since 1980.

  • @vanhouten64 Looks like they're revising the size to at least 500 meters, since it supposedly survived the encounter with the Sun. But still 1600 ft isn't really that big.

They're saying though in the northern hemisphere it could be as bright as Jupiter in January.

That's amazing that you've seen 90 comets, I haven't seen one lol, maybe when I get a telescope in the future.

  • You might not see anything. The glare of the Sun will be too bright. So don't get too excited! Only Space telescopes would have a good view.

  • i hope it survives its pass but it's not likely

  • There is an outside chance that it may survive its encounter with the sun, which would cause it to become bright enough to be seen during the daylight hours. Scientists emphasize that Lovejoy's survival of this encounter is not likely, however.

  • Looking beautiful in this video~! Something different about you'z hair. x)

  • i tracked hale bopp from when it was as far out as jupitors orbit till it went behind the sun! It was awesome! All with 10x50 binocs on a tripod! I also saw haleys in '86 i was dissapointed! Comet Hyakataki was pretty cool too! Ima hopin' for clear skies!

  • You are cute

  • your hairrrrr i wanna touch

  • hailys comet was pretty bright i remember seeing that in broad daylight

  • I hate your face

  • Я видел полное солнечное затмение, раз в 300 лет бывает. Было страшно, животные взбесились, птицы летали туда сюда, подул страшный ветер и стало темно как ночью. А самое клёвое это уходящая в даль тень.

  • I wish I was your age when I became interested in astronomy. Theres clouds heading into my area of NC on the 15th, I might see it on the 14th but just in case I'm gonna subscribe, I share your enthusiasm and cant wait for the pics and vids to come in. Awesome report you gave!!!

  • WHARE DO U LIVE? I wana see it. Didn't see a comet before. AWNSER PLZ

  • WHARE Do

U LIVE? I want to see the comet

  • You didnt kiss my face!

  • Um, there's something wrong here. I read both articles you linked to and the second article clearly states twice that the possibility of seeing this comet with the naked eye is extremely slim. Not quoting it directly it says it is moving to slowly and will probably burn up before we would be able to see it with the naked eye. It did say to watch it on your computer to see the death of the comet. It did say this was a large comet but not very bright. I do like your videos though.

  • Comets are cool :) Thank you for the advance notice Megan :) ... I looked up into the sky at 1997 when Hale Bob was out there waving for us at night. Which was truely amazing.

  • i like ur hair xX

  • I did see a comet.

  • DECMBER 15th is my birthday :)

  • In the spring of 1997 I seen the Hale-Bopp Comet. It was visible for a short time after sunset as I remember it and it was the only comet that I had ever seen with my own eyes.

  • @ZomBhunter987 what tits?

  • You look so beautiful with new hairstyle

  • love the curly hair :)

  • cometgasm :D

  • The last bright one as far as i'm aware was 1997 Hale Bopp. You could see that one for ages, even partially in the day. I would think we can all see the comet, other than maybe the north and south pole.

  • damn those Japanese and their comets......

  • omg your hair looks good like that very nice

  • something different about you.. can't put finger on it.

  • we we we so excited :)

  • I used to be an astrologist like you then I took an arrow to the knee

  • @con reading and remembering stuff from astronomy doesnt count when u can remember the gaias and star structuers with what coments have passes and such then maybe

  • Megan is now an astrologist!

Ps: also i like your hair as well

  • are you ok? you dont seem yourself

  • @megan needy much?
