Woman coming up behind me last night was doing at least 60 in a 30 zone, didn't see me and i had to swerve into oncoming traffic, because there was a car next to me in the right lane (thankfully the only car in oncoming was in the far lane) as soon as i got out of that lane she flew by me. At the next red light i was going to keep my cool until she had the audacity to say "i'm so sorry i didn't see you" while holding her fucking phone. Don't text and drive.

Holy shit dude. That was close. I always stay in gear at a stop sign or light until I see that a car behind me has stopped, then I'll put it in neutral and sit up. i was riding and a about 5 seconds after i had switched lanes, this suburban just merges into my lane. i only had a couple of yards between me and the car. after swerving in the other lane i kindly gave him the middle finger. just goes to show that you should always be looking for your escape route.

When at a light you should pick an extreme side of the lane right/left your in. (Almost on the dividing or curb line. this gives the car a way to avoid you in an emergency braking sceario. never stop in the middle of the lane at a light. To the new riders: I as a cager had an encounter with someone on a small bike (scooter?) some months ago; fortunately I saw him pulling out in time! At the next red light, I pulled up even with him, and calmly pled with him to be careful, and watch those stop signs! The LAST thing I want is to hurt anyone while driving, and even on a 45 MPH street, it can get dangerous for bikes, and cars!

Living in the TN backwoods because I'm in the military and stationed in the middle of nowhere, I realize that drivers around my area don't really give a flying fuck if they blind you or not. There aren't many light poles or street lights around here, so everybody's always got their high beams on in case a damn deer was in the road. But rarely do they flick off the highs when another car passes. Fucken dumb ass rednecks in their big ass trucks.

The fact that it's almost pitch dark on most roads around here, your eyes adjust to less light. But when a truck with it's high beams on comes at you on one of these very narrow roads, it gets absolutely blinding and everything basically just turns white. The narrow, windy roads here make it very easy to go off road and possibly in the drainage ditch common to the roads around here. A normal road with enough room would be tolerable, but not when the margin for error is so damn small here.

Everybodies eyes are adjusted to see in the dark and your high beams blind them - because the person can no longer see a thing and they don't want to fall in the ditch at the side of the road they compensate by moving towards the middle - giving you less space.

The only time you should have them on is in Fog

Yes, stay in first for sure at a light and this is also one of the reasons to know your bike and how it launches when you launch it hard to avoid assholes behind you. He was flipping me off as he went by a foot away from my front tire at 50mph+.
