Great build man and those prices are unheard of down here in Florida! People want $3,000 for a Jeep with no engine in south Florida! I wouldn't get a Jeep newer than a 95 personally. YJ's are the best! I'm about to get a 91 straight 6 this weekend hopefully!
$800 for gears? youre high for paying that much, i just did 4.56s front and rear on my xj for a little over $350. thats including the master install kit.
as for that 2.5l "iron mike" its stong enough for rockcrawling if you also regear your transfer case with axles.
33s on a 3 in lift is about the biggest u can go and its a jeep bro they arent race cars i got a 90 4 cylinder and it takes a lil while for it to get up to speed on freeway but offroad it handles like a charm :D
Question... Okay so i have a 95Wrangler YJ 4Cylinder and it has a 3'' body lift, and 33'' all terrains... How much bigger (Tire wise and lift wise) can i go.. And also how fast can it go.. Cause at the moment its pretty slow going
@The95WranglerYJ the bigger tires and lift you put on it the slower its gunna go is usually how that works especially with the 4 banger but guess you could go as big as you wanted
@The95WranglerYJ My buddy had 7 inches of lift and 37s with his 95 4 banger automatic struggles. but both his and mine (92 straight 6 5 speed on 35s soon to be 37s on 7 inches) are full suspension lift no body lift. if its a daily driver id say keep it 3 with 33s plus the ax5 trans will eventually break ( id get rid of the body lift and go suspension though. if its not a daily but you wanna keep it legal well that a whole different ball game there
You are maxed out right now. Do not add any more lift or increase your tire diameter with that engine. And don't waster your money trying to add power to that engine to get bigger tires, it's not going to work. Recommend losing the 3" body lift for 3-4" suspension. I put 35s and 5" lift on the same jeep, had to spend another $800 on 4.88 gears just to reach 60 mph.
Hey why was it not reliable to go to work and back???? I have a 94 wrangler and it gets me to work and back with rain snow or sun shine all week and it's great on gas.
@Dachevymane Didn't say it was unreliable, driving to and from work and school with 34" tires just wasn't ideal. If I had the money I would have kept the jeep and bought a little commuter beater car. Thanks for watching.
@ateateate123123 a 90' for 1500 is only good if they YJ has mods and a good body. see here in canada ,most old vehicles are rusted out because during winter theirs more salt on the road then snow!
if the body and all is good, it wont cost much to go to a scrappers and get a engine and tranny with like 100K miles on it.
love the jeep reminds me of what ive done to mine. how long have you had the rc lift on i just put mine on about two months ago just wondering if you were still running it or how you like it
@mcgrath56 nice jeep at least you sold it to a family member so if you stop by your uncles house you can just ask him hey can i take the ole jeep for a spin?
Sick shit I bought my 95 wrangler for 800 off a woman who was gonna trade it in but they only offered her 500. And that was probably 6yrs ago and only had to put a battery in it, and it had I think 70k and now it has over 200k and still runs like a charm! Best $800 investment I've ever made!:P
the only thing i envy is that you have the luxury of a hard top and full metal doors. i love my YJ, but its only got the half metal doors and a rag top.
should a went with the 33" for greater travel but hey it is a jeep props for not leaving it in the garage ! rubber side down google arizona virtual jeep club
hay man, what kind of paint did you use on your hard top. I would like to paint mine black to, but I don't know wich kind of paint a should use to make a good job. your's look nice
i got a 91 with the 2.5 n stock it had problems on hills n shit but i put the aem intake, throttle body spacer and ported throttle body from a 4.0 jeep n it does sooo much better
@xmoddriver16 I have a 90 with a 2.5.. a 4in lift and I run 35s. I can run 65 to 70 on the highway. The only difference is my rear-end is a Ford 8.8 with 4:10 gears. I can pretty much go anywhere and do anything.
yo my 91 has the 2.5 n stock it sucked but i did the aem brute force intake , throtle body spacer, and ported 4.0l throttle body and flowmaster muffler n it made a big diff it does fine now
Nice job! Ive got a '91 cant wait to get it lifted and some tires! Ive got some mud terrain 31's on er now! Do you still run with your sway bar on? i was thinking bout removing mine to get some more flex? Thnx Keep on Jeepin on
i may be going out to buy this EXACT jeep (engine and lift) i want to put big tires like that on...do you notice an decrease in power or any sluggishness when driving it?
Coming along nicely. I finished a YJ build last year. Put a 4" Tuff Country lift then went SOA for a total of 11" It fits 38's with plenty of room for flex. It was a bit spendy to do it right with high steer ect. I think the best move I made was putting lockers front and rear and putting D44's front and rear. LOCKERS LOCKERS LOCKERS
Did you like the RC lift, I want the 4 inch, but need extended brake lines, I want to put on 33 12.50 15s, on stock 15 8 wheels. Will buy a 1 3/8 shackle front and back lift, and 2 inch body to go with it if I want in taller afterward. How slow is the acceleration, I have a 95, 4 hamster too. Should I buy the tune up kit at quadratec, spark plugs, lines, distributer cap, oil filter air filter. Thanks and nice jeep
Thanks dude, Yea I like the lift came with heavy duty leaf springs. Acceleration isn't too bad it's definitely no race car. Yea I'd go with that kit any extra power is always nice.
yeah decided to go the easy way, 3 inch body, 2 inch shackles, and new skyjacker hydro shocks 2 inches longer. Thanks dude, and i hope the 33s dont rub
Hi, really nice YJ transformation, i just recently got a 89 just like yours in white and 4 cylinder manual. I want to mess around with it a little too, so far i only got black cragar wheels. I was wondering what kind of "cheap shakle lift" you did on it and how much lift you got? right now it has 30" tires, did you have any problems with the 31" tires? what kind of paint did you use for the top? again, nice jeep! i will post a pic of mine soon
thanks a lot, I got the shackle lift at autozone it added about 2 inches, no problems with the 31's and for the paint I used black enamel out of the can and just brushed it on thanks for watching
Hey first off I just wanted to say nice yj man looks real good... have a question want to mount a d ring in the middle of my bumper like you got is that the best place to mount one?
very nice jeep. one question. im getting a wrangler for my first car probably and was wondering if the 4" lift is enough for the 34s because i planned on putting 33s when i get mine.
hey, nice jeep, how is yours on gas,i want to get one and put 33s on it and figure out what size of lift,do you think it has enought power for 33s or should i just get a 6 cylinder? thanks.
4.0 but my moms a dumbass, but since i moved out im just slowly adding on..i really like the idea and i will keep you posted for when I make a slideshow!! thanks bro!!
thanks for watching bro, yea man I can't complain about the 2.5 it gets me where I need to go.. but it is always nice to have that extra power.. yea def keep me posted and good luck with it dude
I like the slideshow, it was pretty good. I have a 1990 yj also, it already had a shackle lift..im taking it off and adding a 6 inch Rough Country suspension lift and im keeping my 35 bfgr on it as of now. I can't complain about those tires ive had the truck burried too the frame and have never had too been pulled out, and im pushing that with a 2.5 liter..I accauly have it in the shop right now..2100 dollars for a brand new 2.5 liter..i was going to go
I,m sittig here on this cold, wet English spring day looking up any YJ YouTube vids. and I find your set of wheels ! I like the transformation. I sold my Land Rover (very cheap parts) for my '94 4.0 lt YJ (very expensive parts) and I love it. God Bless America ! (oh, and the U.K) ROB.
aweome yj man. i gotta 1995 and i got a 3" body lift that came on it. bout to get rid of body lift and get me a 4" suspension and 2" shackles. mine sits on 33" comfortably but thats it. i gonna get 35s on it. man yours looks awesome tho.
thanks for checking it out dude, yea I just put a 2" body lift on it, so I'm sitting on 6" now.. I was thinking about getting a spring over axle kit which would add another 5.5" with a total of 11.5 but thats just an idea... good luck with yours!
the power is decent, its not the fastest thing on the road but when you get back in the woods in 4low its tough to stop with a nice set of tires, thanks for watching
I had a question i got a 1989 jeep wrangler yj 2.5l 4 cylinder i have been looking everywhere for an intake you got any advice on where i could get one?
Thanks dude, have a 4" rough country lift, 34" super swampers and cragar wheels I think they're 15x10, just ordered a 2" body lift to get some more clearance for the 34's. I love my yj.
Great build man and those prices are unheard of down here in Florida! People want $3,000 for a Jeep with no engine in south Florida! I wouldn't get a Jeep newer than a 95 personally. YJ's are the best! I'm about to get a 91 straight 6 this weekend hopefully!

thanks for checking it out dude, yea I just put a 2" body lift on it, so I'm sitting on 6" now.. I was thinking about getting a spring over axle kit which would add another 5.5" with a total of 11.5 but thats just an idea... good luck with yours!
