The easiest/fastest way to defeat Leanoric was using zombie spell even before Leanoric mixed his first spell (teleport). 1. find herbs and mix zombie, 2. find villager south of herb #2, wait for Leanoric who will come for herb #2, 3. use zombie spell.
Check the map here ( mapy.atari8.info/f-k/feud.png ). The vertical position of herb #24 was wrong, so that the herb could be picked up as if it was inside the wall south of herb #10. Of course you could also find the byte with this position and fix it instead (it's most likely just one wrong bit).
@elestir Thank you you awesome person. Just had a go fighting leonoric with lightning and suddenly the game is really easy as you have enough to take him out with one round of offence rather than having to go back to get more sprites and fireballs. Thank you :)

I was never very good at this game. I used to bob my pants whenever I saw Leanoric picking his herbs and it proved too stressful. I guess I was a nervy kid. Cool music even if slightly hypnotic.
@CoolDudeClem There were 4x 8bit channels and each of the two pairs could be turned into one 16bit channel. The deep sounds could be achieved through these 16 bit channels.
This game was real pain in the ass to finish. One herb was bugged and impossible to pick and this other guy was tough to find :) Not bad music though :)
@elestir How do you exactly pick it up. The only way I can get to it is above or beneath as there is a house on one side of it and a wall on another. Please let me know as this bugged me my whole childhood :)

Actually I just found a fixed ATR file on my disk. To fix the ATR, find the byte at offset 0x411a and change it from 0x09 to 0x1D.

@RoboFH Actually it wasn't impossible. The vertical position of that herb was corrupted, so you could find the herb on another place... :-)
