@qwertyuiopz123 Not unless threatened (as with most spiders). These guys, like most jumping spiders, are curious creatures who won't attack unless they feel threatened.
i love these spiders. they like to bend upwards and stare right at you, like he does in this video. if you move around them, they'll turn to face you and stare you down
@DrakDrakoTako are you fuking kidding me?? everytime the thing looked up at the camera it looks like he was about to jump on the camra and bite my face off!
Are these species of jumping spider found in New Jersey ? Because I found one very much like this one crawling on my computer screen last night . but it had some yellow markings on it and a bad temper
not just 5 mins ago i had one on my computer screen funny at first i thought it was a pop up. little guy was running around checking out the screen and when i went go get something to take him outside he was gone, so i cleaned up a little and he came back so i got him into the cup took him outside but he didn't wanna leave the cup but few seconds he went onto a green bush but looked like he didnt know where to go so i got him back into the cup he changed colors then turned black as he moved on.
@BleachFan2007 cute little thing he was kinda cool how he could change colors from green to black. wish i could of kept him but he belonged with nature.
@CarlosIsDown Jumping spiders are actual real sweethearts and very curious. I usually try to get them in my hands but I tend to scare them too... I'm not scared of them myself though.
I feel bad now that i just killed that innocent poor creature because I thought it was dangerous. I probably still wouldn't have the nerves 2 catch n take it outside though.
I've had a bold jumping spider before. Her name was roxy :3 I had her for about 3 months and she was then...killed. But today I found a baby! Another girl...I never find the males. I named this one Rosette ^^
we get these in the house all the time. They dont creep me out as bad as alot of spiders do. Im rather arachnophobic but the one I had today I coaxed to crawl into a cup then nervously put it outside. Im not to a point where I can let them get on me, Id flip out lol.
@HawthornWitch I despise spiders as well but Im always picking up jumping spiders whenever I see them. They never bite and sometimes hard to let them go cause they wont want to leave my hand

i have many of these little guys living in my back yard. sometimes they get close to take a look at me but most of the time they keep to themselves. i hear they are really good spiders so i keep them around, funny now i have more and more of them comming. both males and females. they are mean looking but i guess they wont harm people so im ok with them! sometimes i watch them foriage for food and they are interesting little creatures! cool video, your braver than i am but still very cool!
My spiderling from July was hiding in a web it made in a log i placed in my critter tank. finally today i checked..it shed it's skin and it's a F$@*in Male !!! SONG - what is it- Yes, several people have said that it is Neil Young Pocahontas, but what version of the song is this? what album is it from? etc. aka How do I go about finding this song?
Survival of the fittest. Spiders eat other bugs, wrap them up in spider webs and what not. You don't call them selfish prats. You need to get over yourself, it's ONE spider. There are plenty more where that came from.
this is taken from the california poison control website: "Bites from a jumping spider are painful, itchy and cause redness and significant swelling. Other symptoms may include painful muscles and joints, headache, fever, chills, nausea and vomiting. The symptoms usually last about 1-4 days."
Here's some advice, don't be like the guy in this video.
@bsauced However, what they fail to mention is that jumping spiders only bite larger animals as a last ditch effort to save their lives. Also, they tend to give a few warning bites before injecting venom. Source: I handle jumping spiders.
@regalgsme I've got a large dark one in my flat. They keep popping up all over the place. I discovered an identical tiny nymph yesterday. I just let them wander about.
I don't have my 50d no more. But wan't to get it again when i have enough to spare on it. But i use my wife's nikon D60 witch still does pretty good compared to the cannon 50D, I love the L series lenses, 17 by 35mm 2.5 lens And a 24 by 105 L lens with image stabilizer and extension tube for close ups, with that set up you can shoot some pics better then national geography, your up there in the same class is what im saying with quality
I like this vid a lot. It was well put together and the music choice is really good for it. Its like your best friend. I like though's close up shots you did as well. How did you get it so close? Did you just use a macro mode on a small camera. Or did you use a extension tube for a SLR camera, I Took photography and love to shoot bugs and get great shots of them. You should see this fly picture i did. Its a standard fly but super close with a extension tube i mounted on my cannon 50D
So very cute! Love the music. I think it really fits jumping spiders & most spiders in general...they are so woefully misunderstood & maligned. Most spider species are very docile & don't want to waste venom on humans. Also, as others have pointed out, they are very beneficial to people...no downside unless you're a pansy with a spider phobia (in which case I suggest you get over it).
u know.. my neighbour's cats are afraid of everyone including me though we intend no harm.. but this spider is not afraid of a colossus.. kewlies, appreciate another of God's creation wuhaha..
This has to be the most adorable spider I've ever seen! I think I actually got one exploring the window in my dinning room. It has the big eyes, but it's black with red-banded legs and seems a little smaller/flatter. Could it still be a jumping spider?
Haha, spiders usually freak me out when I see them, but jumping spiders are adorable. It's also great that they move like little stop motion clay figures.
im not a big spider fan, they scare the crap out of me but those jumping spiders i dont mind but those close up shots of him was pushing it a bit though lol, but his eyes looked awesome!
He's an amazing little guy. Does anyone know how to get these and how to propagate them ? I hear that they kill those Brown Recluse SOB's which by the way are eating us up here on the farm. Although I can't stand spiders standing anwhere near or on me, I do say this was quite elegant. Spiders are unique creatures bust so easily feared just how creepy they can look.
Hey, I saw a spider like this in my house yesterday, it had the same kind of eyes but it was a tad smaller and was gray with some red markings, it also moved insanely fast like this one, was it a jumping spider as well?
@Fdkojvnr I have experienced the same. Terser, Torn80cj, and Peacockspiderman have really shown a cute side to spiders, especially these jumping spiders. All three of them get such incredible shots of these spiders.
I have one roaming around my house and i see him every once in a while... he is so cute i love the green on him its pretty... did you know they are one of the tamest spiders and u can make them jump from hand to hand
Great video! I found one of these little creatures crawling on my curtains a few weeks back, caught and gave it a home. It laid an egg sac last week and the babies just hatched. Now i'll have a few of these very cool looking guys for each of my gardens!
The sweetest spiders you will ever meet! So many people are told that spiders will bite you, but that is just not the case. Jumping spiders are the friendlies I have ever encountered, once I had one inside my house for almost 2 years & I could swear she actually recognized me, I used to give her flies! How can you say no to such a cute fuzzy face? Thanks for sharing your video!
I like the obvious immense strength they have. Not just from the way they out-muscle most prey, but even from the way they make every move. The body is in complete, ratcheted, precise control. Strength to weight ratio must be ridiculous, and those jumps from only the back pair of legs... sheesh. Wish a radioactive one would bite me :)
@Mizuuma For a male he looked about normal. It also looks like he was in an area rich with prey as soon as he goes on with his hunting. Those trees, etc... a supermarket for jumping spiders.
I'll never kill another jumping spider. I'll just politely move them to a proper location. I hate killing spiders anyways because I know they're awesome insect killers, on the same token I hate spiders around me & if I see one it typically ends up dead for being in the wrong location
@MangaGirl58 if you agitate them they will bite but they learn to trust like most bugs with good eyesight do, there bite is not serious but i hear it stings. they kill dangerous spiders like widows and relcuse and also kill flies
@walmartian I see I see. So their bite is like a bee sting but not fatal? That's good. I've been stung by bees before, so i'm pretty sure I could deal with it XD
@MangaGirl58 Less painful than a bee's sting, generally. Bees sting specifically to discourage things (including large animals like bears) from attacking their nest and evolved a painful sting due to its success in helping their colonies thrive. Spiders bite to paralyze (and kill) relatively small prey. Their bite need not be painful for that purpose (likely the opposite--the less painful the better for quickly neutralizing prey), so their bites are often very mild in pain intensity.
@TritonAlias That said, though, even spiders like the brown recluse (Loxosceles reclusa) have an almost entirely painless bite yet possess venom that is extremely toxic and can cause a severe wound in a relatively short amount of time. It is best to exercise caution unless you are certain you are dealing with a spider that is mostly harmless (even though most are just that).
@MangaGirl58 weird is i've been bittn by many bugs, ants, bees, wasps, locust, mantis, but never a spider at least not when i was awake. but i've handled these and see spiders. woke up with bites on my arm they scabbed over like BB size but they didnt rot, possibly baby brown recluse, but the dam recluse is like the movie Aliens- very hard to kill without blunt force, outlives poison, cold, and heat. jumper kil recluse, posions, cold and heat kill jumper, sissors rocks, paper...
My daughter named him MAX .. Shy lil guy but was a survivor. Futuristic looking robotic killer. Programmed to live always on the prowl. Studied his prey with 8 eyes open wide. Snacking on flies... Never scared of insects twice its size. Took other spider lives from there own web. Shit ! Max pounced on a bubble bee with his green jaws locked on tight as they struggle in flight.. Yes, Max was a skilled hunter and a father of 100s. Never understood females but atleast he got sumthing.R.I.P MAX
I have always loved jumping spiders. They are like the dog of spiders. Unless provoked (quite a lot) they wont bite. Besides that they aren't dangerous like brown recluse spiders which these little dudes will eat. That's right... respect!
I cleaned my room and got rid of an old couch and there were a bunch of little spiders that looked like black widows without the red thing. Wtf were they?
scariest shit ever, I found one of these as I was pulling my shirt over my head. Scared the LIVING SHIT OUT OF ME, I wouldn't have killed it...when I came back back in my room after running away it was no where to be found lol
i found one on the wall in my kitchen... scared the SHIT out of me... i hate spiders Dx
and what really scared me was i new it could jump cause when i got close to it it would look at me, and prop itself up so i let it be... to this day i have no idea where it is.. o.o
i found one tiny baby jumping spider into my fridge frozen hanging from the seeling.Grap it from the tiny net in the rear and let it onto a plate.Put it into a clear visible pill box.And having it by my side now.I am gonna released it when it grows to the size of my little finger(about 8x8 mm)
I keep on finding babies in my room, I guess theres a nest somewhere that i cant find. I live in the uk though, so i was surprised to see them here. Anyway thanks for this video, i am going to catch them and put them outside from now on.
WOW!!! simply amazing footage, this is my fav spider,i love the way they move their head to guage their jump before leaping and the size!!!,never seen one that big here and they never sit still for me to film them, beautifil work mate, great stills too.massive thumbs up and fav :)
Nice ... great communication between both :)

I like the obvious immense strength they have. Not just from the way they out-muscle most prey, but even from the way they make every move. The body is in complete, ratcheted, precise control. Strength to weight ratio must be ridiculous, and those jumps from only the back pair of legs... sheesh. Wish a radioactive one would bite me :)

his abdomen's tiny, have you fed him?
Mizuuma 6 months ago
@Mizuuma For a male he looked about normal. It also looks like he was in an area rich with prey as soon as he goes on with his hunting. Those trees, etc... a supermarket for jumping spiders.

I'll never kill another jumping spider. I'll just politely move them to a proper location. I hate killing spiders anyways because I know they're awesome insect killers, on the same token I hate spiders around me & if I see one it typically ends up dead for being in the wrong location

How can something so dangerous be so small and cute
Metall37 6 months ago
@Metall37 They are completely harmless. Do some research.
IncubiProtocoL 6 months ago
may I asked how the hell you're holding that thing XD Do they bite?
MangaGirl58 6 months ago
@MangaGirl58 if you agitate them they will bite but they learn to trust like most bugs with good eyesight do, there bite is not serious but i hear it stings. they kill dangerous spiders like widows and relcuse and also kill flies
walmartian 6 months ago
@walmartian I see I see. So their bite is like a bee sting but not fatal? That's good. I've been stung by bees before, so i'm pretty sure I could deal with it XD
MangaGirl58 5 months ago
@MangaGirl58 Less painful than a bee's sting, generally. Bees sting specifically to discourage things (including large animals like bears) from attacking their nest and evolved a painful sting due to its success in helping their colonies thrive. Spiders bite to paralyze (and kill) relatively small prey. Their bite need not be painful for that purpose (likely the opposite--the less painful the better for quickly neutralizing prey), so their bites are often very mild in pain intensity.
TritonAlias 5 months ago
@TritonAlias That said, though, even spiders like the brown recluse (Loxosceles reclusa) have an almost entirely painless bite yet possess venom that is extremely toxic and can cause a severe wound in a relatively short amount of time. It is best to exercise caution unless you are certain you are dealing with a spider that is mostly harmless (even though most are just that).
TritonAlias 5 months ago
@MangaGirl58 weird is i've been bittn by many bugs, ants, bees, wasps, locust, mantis, but never a spider at least not when i was awake. but i've handled these and see spiders. woke up with bites on my arm they scabbed over like BB size but they didnt rot, possibly baby brown recluse, but the dam recluse is like the movie Aliens- very hard to kill without blunt force, outlives poison, cold, and heat. jumper kil recluse, posions, cold and heat kill jumper, sissors rocks, paper...

how u tel if its a male or female for spiders? and this one
Evil0o0700 6 months ago
I have always loved jumping spiders. They are like the dog of spiders. Unless provoked (quite a lot) they wont bite. Besides that they aren't dangerous like brown recluse spiders which these little dudes will eat. That's right... respect!
