Next to the pistols and ramones, these guys are what punk is all about. Punk isn't about style or genre. It's about minimalism. Forget all that angry political crap. Listen to the first real punkers. The ramones wrote only ONE political song and yet they are the godfather of punk. That's why the offspring are amazing. 4 chord songs with meaning and they don't care what people say, they do and write what they want.

And at the core of the punk beginnings, there was quite a lot of politics, excluding that from the genre would take one of the main reasons why it began.
