Phil got me into being a looping artist. He's the first guy I saw do it in the mid 90s. Now I wish I could play as well as him. I'm a pretty darn good guitar player, but Phil is a great guitar player.
the thing about being a musician or guitar player is that when you start comparing yourself with a tommy emmanule it will drive you crazy. its all about soul searching in your music.
Good solid interview! Phil talks about his tools and their technological evolution. None of that tired "he may have been a star if not for" -or- "Jimi may or may not have said this or that" crap, like many other interviews.
I 'm a BOSS man and think what he says is excellent for musical incentive- to get proficient in arranging . I have keyboards and want to play my strings back of me. My LoopStation can load 16 minutes of sound in eleven places. I will record my backup harmonies through a mic as well. 'Dealing with a learning curve at the moment.
I can't think of anyone more adroit with the fretboard than this man. He sure as Heaven doesn't need this. The man's an octopus.
Do you mean ten fingers on one hand?Is it true some one would eat a good finger to play better. If it works i'll eat my own finger since i have anatomical regeneration.
Phil and I are from the the same area in Ohio. I loved to watch him in the 70s with his band Glass Harp. What he is saying about looping is so important to all guitarist. This can and will make you a better guitarist if you use it right. Also using looping in your shows on stage its really fun.

This man is the best guitarist on the planet.
And the "tap it in" reference is from Caddie Shack II. LOL not happy Gilmore.
But seriously, God has blessed this very humble gentleman beyond our wildest dreams. I hope there's a guitar store
And a Jamman in Heaven. You will find me hanging with Phil and jamming our brains out.

He's better than a lot of 10 fingered guitarists.

Black, maroon red, and rust orange.
Phil Keaggy invented the Star Trek uniform!
I think Phil has changed his mind on loop length with some of his new material, which I appreciate.
