  • this version will be sung at my funeral...hopefully many years from now

  • When i was 3 yrs old mama said i would clap my hands and sing this oh ty you god for giving us ELVIS ..HE has showed me the way to the sweet peace of the lord ..AMEN.

  • A Happy and Most Blessed Chanukah, CHRISTmas, and Holiday Season to ALL!

  • Beautiful. i cant stop crying right now listening to this video while i'm typing this comment.

  • This is so awesome. Elvis loved Gospel more than Rock n Roll, truth be told. And I love the fact Elvis basically had a miniature choir as his back up singers.(sweet inspirations & Kathy W singing soprano) Again, excellent rendition.

  • I love this prayer and often listen when to call the Holy spirit ,Elvis sang superlatively brilliantly but excelled in gospel music I rate him up there whith mahalya and hank williams

  • This is such a beautiful song it reminds me of when i was a teenager my brother also sang along to this and my Mum, I dedicate this song to my brother who passed away two years this sunday at the age of 49, we all miss you so much there is a big space in our hearts,xx

  • @tarjuah Keep going on man, lifes challenges make you stronger.

  • God bless all... Elvis... Jesus died for you, he forgive you...

  • wow i have tears

  • He was raised Pentecostal. I do not think in all his fame he really left his spiritual heritage. The king is dead, long live the king! Judge not lest you shall be judged....

  • What Elvis did during his last few hours on earth: went to the dentist; played racquetball; sat at the piano and sang "Sweet, Sweet, Spirit" and "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain"; went to his room and prepared for bed; read the morning papers; went to the bathroom, taking with him a book on the Shroud of Turin, called "The Scientific Search for the Face of Jesus"; he never left the room alive. It appears he was thinking of his Lord right to his last moment.

  • CLICK ON: disccentury, GOSPEL MUSIC, NEVER SEEN

  • Elvis was a bell sheep. He was the first to share "contemporary Christian" music with the rest of the world. Sure he made mistakes...but you know he was being attacked so horribly because he had so much to give. Most of us can drive around town all day with our little fish on the back of our cars and feel good about ourselves, but do we really make a difference?

  • Read again, the Bible says believe & RECEIVE. It does NOT say that baptism is a requirement for salvation!

  • God Bless Elvis Presley His music will live forever!

  • There is not a doubt that Elvis went to heaven 34 years ago today in my mind.. Elvis loved the Lord. He was not perfect and he knew that, but he knew the Lord Jesus and loved Him. All Elvis ever wanted to do was to sing Gospel. He brought God's music to so many people and ministered to them as well.

  • You cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven Unless you've been born again. an no its just not accept Jesus as your savior an Lord you must be bon again of water and spirit.

Read Acts 2:38 Believe. Repent. get baptized in JESUS NAME. and you shall recieve the HOLY GHOST.

  • @davister89 The Bible does not require water baptism and the UPC teaching aka the Oneness teaching for anyone to be saved. You are correct in the part that no one can enter heaven unless they are Born Again. The New Spiritual Birth did not require the criminal dying beside Jesus Christ on the cross by crucifixion to be baptised in water to be saved and go to heaven.

  • do you see how time changed??? Elvis didnt feel ashamed to show his love to the Lord .. in his concerts .. in front of thousands .. and other millions listened and watched movies and videos .. who would do that now ???? Elvis if you can hear me, thank you!! and I love you so much ..

  • Elvis himself once said to the effect...... " I would quit rock to sing full time gospel, but, it would put too many people out of work."

  • Its music that floods into your entire body...not just thru your ears, but somehow through your skin. God Bless

  • awesomexxx

  • I was at this concert :)

  • @conthree that would have been an awesome concert. How deeply and spiritually Elvis was connected to his music. He looks like he wants to listen and wants to join in too. Here he is at the top of his game.

  • Elvis' first reaction was to say "Lord I reckon so!" I wonder why that is so frequently edited out?

  • Watching Elvis be moved by beautiful music makes me cry. I love the Lord and thank him for putting people Like Elvis in our lives. And beautiful music. God bless us all.

  • I think Elvis was ready to go home he was tired of all the people that were using him to get money ,Like his wife, managerand record people. he has finally found peace with Jesus. Jesus gave him to us and people abused him for profit and Jesus took him away. Thank you Jesus for giving him peace.

  • @kingstram2002 Bad Legal drugs took Him away ! Duh !

  • @towne777 no it was ppl that were to afraid to stand up to him that could have said no to the legal drugs, like the doctors, family and friends. They were to wrapped up in the money and fame to save him a a person.

  • @kingstram2002 yeah but how do you know he went to Heaven? I mean if he died while he was under the influence drugs we can only hope he had time to pray before he died. Plus he was so vulgar in his later years

  • @musicianforjesus you don't just get to heaven for asking for forgiveness it is what is in your heart. by you thinking if we pray before we die we get to heaven.look at the criminal on the cross next to Jesus he did bad things all his life but he had enough love in his heart to ask why Jesus was being punished when it was the criminal that deserved it.. it was what was in his heart that got him a place in heaven.

  • @kingstram2002 Correct. Words alone do not get anyone into heaven. God is looking for the real true inner character and love for Him in each person's whole being and heart. Not that we loved Him first but He loved us first. It is very important for every person to remember that God loves us individually. Most people do not pay attention to that most important reality. The criminal made a choice. God does not force anyone to love Him like we are robots as many people mistakenly.

  • Official Music of The House of David

ALL, for The Greater Glory of The Christ King YESHUA!

  • I believe Elvis had time to repent before he passed away. God used Elvis's gospel music . Many people have got saved while listening to him.

  • Elvis tells his fans during a concert that Jesus Christ is the King.

    /watch?v=8aZO85MVsPI

  • Excellent! Thank you. :)

  • I was 9 yrs old when Elvis died, but I was a fan thanks to my mama. I'm 42 now, the same age as Elvis when he died and eventhough I've loved Elvis through out my life, it really hits home now more than ever how young he really way. I'm more of a fan now than I ever was...Elvis I know your in heaven singing your heart out like you always have. I'm at peace knowing you are with your family...God Bless You! We will see you again one day and I can hardly wait!

  • Evis sing very well, he a human been like us, if you feel lonely, reach out to Jusus with those song! you will find a peace

  • really beautiful

  • Elvis came from the bottom & rose to # 1....that's saying a lot !

  • I often wonder why Elvis put this song in his show,I think it shows where his heart was,I'm so glad he did.

  • I could feel him as if he were reaching out to God himself. Bet them two has met more than once.

  • if you look in his eyes, this song makes him cry much like it makes everyone else that hears it!

  • extraordinary bass. amazing song

  • hush....

    this is art.

  • i always loved this

  • gyou can feel the spirit in elvis voice

  • amen jesus is lord and elvis knew it!:)))

  • The king isn't even singing here, just watch this man in sweet awe, with over half a million views!? He really was something else.

  • Espetacular , por isso e o Reiiii.

  • ALL, for The Greater Glory of GOD: Official Music of The House of David

  • @HisPrinceMichael Elvis is David!

  • é simlesmente lindo!!

  • elvis, i love yah!!!!

  • i really hope Mr. Presley is in heaven....

  • @Delacruz101895 , he is in heaven

  • Elvis could have converted the world with his influence and I believe he really wanted to be a true christian. He just could not find the strength to let go of the world and the drugs. Awsome talent and vocals though. I was alive when he was still alive but too young to realize who he really was.

  • @rplhouse but drugs didn't kill Elvis his bad health did!

  • Elvis was a very spiritual person. He searched widely and didn't exclude other religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism.

  • @Susie3493 yes but he always came back to one conclusion,JESUS CHRIST WAS KING

  • Praise God for his wonderful love Amen!

  • Elvis played gospel music at his concerts at a time when the music scene was led by secularism. He still drew crowds, although he dared defy the masses.

  • At Last! Here is Elvis' stunning live performance of

☆"How Great Thou Art"☆ from the 1977 CBS Special in glorious High-quality video!

    youtube . com /watch?v=_9BmN5qvI-Y

This is the very-best quality video of this anywhere on YouTube!

  • LOVE THIS!!!!

  • He loved God and Jesus Christ no matter what! But sadly he was murdered fr4 the illuminati.

  • i love them!

  • Elvis is The King of Music. No other singer comes anywhere close to him. He is the only singer able to sing in different styles of music, including pop, gospel, rock, country and etc. If it was not for Elvis, singers and bands like Michael Jackson, Beatles and others would not have existed. Look what happened to the beatles. Eventhough they couldn't sing because of Elvis era they became famous

  • There's no question that Elvis acknowledged Jesus Christ as his Lord and God as he was raised being a christian. However, his lifestyle; his drug addiction; his abuses to women; his furious and rebellious character were absolutely against the precepts of God according to the Bible. A backslider christian can still go to church, sing praise worship and hymns. The issue is not how you sing gospel songs but the condition of your heart in following God's will according to His word.

  • @oriel How do we really know that much of what you allege about Elvis is true? Most of what we think we know about Elvis was written by people claiming to know the so-called "truth about Elvis," only that "truth" was on sale at your local bookstore. We will never really know, so it really is not our place to judge. Only God knows, and we as humans have no right to speak for Him.

  • @oriel Tell me even ONE point where the Bible mentions about drugs or any medicine?

  • Wow ... beautiful performance

  • holy spirt is love

  • Precious! God Bless. Thank you for posting this.

  • just look at Elvis smile makes me go goosy even noe god bless xx

  • wonderful just wonderful

  • great moment, is it possible for any leading singer, band, etc. to recreate the same moment in a concert. this day and age wont allow it.

  • The King is truely singing worship & praise to The King of King and Lord of Lords: No one sings gospel like Elvis there is a lot HOLY SPIRIT power in that great voice. I heard that song since i was a liitle boy and its still sound so spirit filled. We love you ELVIS ...You used your God given talent to bring joy and peace to the world and to your Lord and Saviour The LORD JESUS CHRIST!!!

We miss you and love you Elvis...we know you love JESUS

  • strange when you look at the concerts from 70 to 77, between 72 and 73 there is a noticeable deterioration in his physical self

  • @donnyab Elvis was constantly sick! In 71 he was admitted to the hospital several times! The main reasons behind Elvis poor health n downward spirallng was the occult that was being done to him! Elvis was constantly being bombarded supernaturally or via the occult! That's is if want you real Truth!

  • Talent is a blessing. Elvis had more talent in his little finger than any performer today. Don't judge him unless you're willing to be judged by the same measure. Of course, he loved the Lord.

  • @missingdixie

    You are so right on!

    Love your comment.

  • here here! spot on

  • Just wanted to say thanks to some of the commenters below...So easy to judge people, but David was guilty of murder and adultery, yet is called a man after God's own heart. Moses was guilty of murder, and yet only he was called a friend of God. God sees us much differently than we see ourselves and eachother. I am amazed at Elvis' heart and talents all the more.

  • I love listening to Elvis singing gospel songs, because he does it so beautifully and he seems really genuine. I just wish he had lived what he sang and followed God's word. Anyway, stunning song.

  • @Kelhibbert

King David wasn't that lovely boy either...

  • How dare you judge Elvis! All believers struggle with sin, Elvis' faith in Christ was strong and real!

  • i heard this live...............................in 1997

    heavenly..........................

    ilove the themxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Elvis really loved the lord

  • this is the top off the world!

    elvis,you are so great!

the people behind you are the greatest!

elvis , you had the biggest industrie in the world!!!!!!!!!

  • love you lots elvis! i am sure angels enjoy your voice!

  • guynky06 judge not that you shall not be judged. Jesus lived his life on earth with prostitutes and outcasts. HE was love incarnate, compassion personified. HE loves all his children unconditionally and always forgives. Of course Elvis is with GOD, his holy father and creator.

  • I think sometimes God can let a man loose his life that he may gain his soul..and I pray that's what happened to Elvis cuz he was so anointed and I would love to see him in heaven.

  • I believe that Elvis was saved. He did not live a victorious life on earth due to his ways. i believe that he is with God. Look at how he reacts to this song. He had the holy spirt with him.

  • INCREDIBLE!!!!!

  • who? OH...DO... ANY OF us live by what we say:) Yet even for me, I know that I do my best yet flesh is still being tamed.Elvis was King of much music, and doors opening. But even he knew his Savior. known by His love for the golden oldies concerning hymns:) He had crutches...don't almost all of us:) I hope to be rejoicing with his forgiven soul someday:)

  • We will see him again in Glory,, no doubt

  • The Gaither's do an hour long show on GMC from time to time featuring Elvis' gospel singing. It is fantastic and very moving.

  • greatest entertainer in the History Of Man. I don't need to say anymore.....

  • I dedicate this song to my daughter Louisa S.

  • I love men in harmony like that. And despite his drug addiction and personal issues of which he had many sadly, I do believe he was a born again believer and I do believe he with God.

  • Although this video is beautiful to watch because of the stamps singing, but just look at how Elvis listens to this just pure emotion. No one will ever equal THE KING!

  • Now elvis is with god.

  • CARDMAN365...I hope that Elvis is with God, but based upon how he lived his life, I am afraid that is unlikely. Elvis was a beutiful singer...and was truly blessed by God with a wonderful singing voice, but he did not live what he sung about. Unless God gave Him one last chance that we don't anything about im afraid...but I do hope that he did have the chance and accepted it.

  • that is why God looks inside the heart and not the mind. Elvis had a betten Christian attitude about him than most Christians i know. that man would have given you his lsat dime if he thought you needed it more than he did.

  • you got to be kidding me. if he loved gospel than he loved the lord,,jt

  • So, so beautiful. Elvis only had the best musicians and singers to support him, and The Stamps were amazing.

I get emotional just watching the joy that this brings to Elvis, as he listens to The Stamps sing.

  • The one true absolute that Mr. Elvis Presley always knew and acknowledged is that he would have nothing if it wasn't for the power of the Lord in his life. He has stated this truth on many radio and magazine interviews along with countless conversations with friends and family. People can say what they want (and they will) but no words can erase the truth the he deeply loved the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • In my video Elvis singing Amazing grace he was baptist in Jesus name.

    God Bless

  • @liekilla wow he deeply loved jesus. or maybe he was brainwashed to? he grew up in churches the whole point of religion is to indoctrinate people that's how it works. If you could grow up learning to sing in a church and come out not religious that'd be one good brain right there. Anyway the point is love jesus or not it doesn't fucking matter mate music is music, i mean really the church destroyed/limited music for 100s of years its only the 20th century they decided they could use it to make $

  • @jeremyhillaryboobphd Regardless of our opinions-Mine & Yours- The key to a personal relationship with God is the word "Personal" So it does fuckin matter, You feel me. People came to hear hound dog & not gospel yet it was his "personal" decision to sing gospel. Bob Dylan, Cash, Bono ect, do the same and? What? Its their personal decision as your views are yours - Bottom line!

  • @liekilla haha dude i'd probably play gospel tunes as well, because it's good music not because i want people to be awed by it and think religion is right. religions is not right. the church frowned away from freedom and experimentation in music, and then when people did anyway they ate it all up n said oh u should write some songs for us. That's the main thing that annoys me anyway, and it should annoy you too cos whether you believein god or not thats something the church did, not god.

  • @jeremyhillaryboobphd no elvis won 3 grammy awards and all his gospel music has been RIAA certified as some of the albums put out in the 70s still have no certifications.

  • @mdz255 cheers for the info man, im not too sure how this relates to what i was saying, i wasn't talking about elvis exclusively if that's what you thought i meant, but thanks all the same.

  • @jeremyhillaryboobphd it doesn't matter if u are what u called brained washed as far as church ...it is what is in ur heart that counts... if u don't make things right then it is ur life's decision nobody else cause nobody else will answer for u.. what is in ur heart is between u and God . Elvis was a very religious man and no matter what earthly things he might done he still believed and trusted in God.. anybody that can touch as many people as he could had to have a special gift from GOD..

  • @liekilla AMEN!

  • sorry RothisVH but you are an idiot. no one can stop anyone from singing what they want to in a concert.

  • nothen can touch this!!!!thanks for posting

  • One of the back-up singers said that this song moved Elvis to tears. I think he is the only entertainer to ever include gospel songs with other types of music in his concerts.

  • esse conserteza fou um anjo q Deus mando

  • youre damn right. big E would puke if he saw how this shit is today. I love you Big E. I'll see you soon, brother.

  • He couldn't sing it today because Liberals want all references to God banned. Liberals are ruining America and sucking up to Muslims and destroying Christianity. Elvis would be disgusted with liberals if he were alive today.

  • omg I thought it was just here in the UK. I am not a racist person at all but its getting beyond a joke now.

  • Totally agree

  • I agree! I am from Cuba and the first 2 freedoms they took from us was freedom of religion & the right to bare arms.

  • I agree.

  • 2:05 was my favorite part

  • He couldn't sing this live today because of the liberals.

  • Why couldn't he sing it Live Because of the Liberals ?

  • @RothisVH i'm liberal and a christian. i consider myself a christian socialist. this makes me cry it is so beautiful. people need to lighten up. as long as you don't impose on anyone's beliefs, you should feel free to express yours. peace.

  • @tranurse I'm sorry you consider yourself a socialist. Elvis would be appalled at the state of this country right now. He was a true patriot.

  • @califgirl11 i love my country too. i just think that taking care of people, is the christian thing to do. sorry. we should be judged as a nation by how we care for the elderly, our children and the least of us. read the sermon on the mount, it's all there. peace.

  • @tranurse

Thank God Elvis came along. Stay humble and trust in God.

  • elvis was a saved man! elvis surrendered to jesus christ and it shows in this video. this proves elvis is in heaven and with the lord. look at his face and how he feels the holy spirit move him.

  • We sang this song, as a family, at my wedding. It was the perfect song to celebrate the blessing of a new life and also to sing for what we stood for.

  • grin at 2:05

I think it also was funny

  • listening to songs like this kept him sane during those final years

  • This shows the level of Elvis fans! Nobody could pull off a gospel song in a concert where the performer does not sing!!! Gotta love the king!

  • Elvis is the "GREATEST" NONE BETTER EVER NOT MATTER WHAT ANYBODY SAYS. NONE BETTER. NOT MICHAEL JACKSON OR ANYBODY ELSE. GOD BLESS ELVIS PRESLEY FOREVER. BEARONE7777

  • amen!!!!!!!

  • I heard them do this live before and you could hear a pin drop in the place...also you could really feel the spirit moving...I can't even express the feelingl

  • you are right! I also heard this live in a 1972 concert, and it was spine-tingling! Also the American Trilogy was just awesome!

  • I was there,...I was only 3 years old....so glad to have witnessed this amazing talent!!!!

  • Such beautiful talent singing this song!

    Thank you for posting!

  • no wonder they call him the king!

  • If this dont bring a tear to your eye or make you drop to your kneez and thank God, then my friends there is something wrong with your souls. THANK YOU JESUS!!!!

  • oh god you have the best up there please let him back ELVIS the best what a heavenly choir

  • we can only hope Elvis and J. D. are making that wonderful music forever up there.

  • This is the first gospel song that touched my heart and soul of the lord. God Bless, these men with such beautiul voices. Amen

  • Only a true christian understands what "Sweet Sweet spirt" means. I pray that everyone reading this accepts Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and is filled with the Holy Spirt. Amen

  • I completely agree with you. To God be the Glory through Jesus Christ our Lord.

  • Never again, will we have a performer stop a concert just to listen to a Gospel song, and listen to it in pure emotion, only the king does this. Appreciate it! The king of Music!

  • It is great, that we can know how much Elvis Presley really loved our Lord Jesus Christ !

  • Comment removed

  • I LOVE ALL PIPP

  • Elvis loved to hear J.D. sing. What a voice J.D. had and Elvis loved having J.D. in his shows. I wish Elvis had recorded more Gospel music than he did.

  • I love the harmonizing.

  • IM sending this video out to the KING of POP MICHEAL JACKSON RIP MICHEAL JACKSON

  • how many rock concerts are stopped today to sing a pretty daring lyrical Christian song? None that I know of. Elvis made mistakes, but he also did a lot of good and was the ultimate entertainer. Thank God he was not associated with other junk like other so called 'kings of pop'.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!

  • The name of the bass singer is J.D. Sumner

  • J.D.Sumner knew Elvis when he was young,he used to let him in the back door because Elvis was too poor to pay. When Elvis grew up he remembered J.D. and look where he ended up.

  • does any one know who the Bass singer is

  • J.D. Sumner

  • he left the church, but the church never left him.

  • i havent heard a base singer like the one he had since then. that man could really bring it. how many rock stars now or even country stars now sing their hit songs and then break off into a gospel song? i dont think very many. i really miss that.

  • Why would you say such a thing? Elvis' music is timeless, his voice unsurpassed, and he is the entertainer of the century. He has fans of ALL GENERATIONS sweetie.
