No it can only be run on AC power, shame really but understandable considering the size of the thing

Dude Im starting Guitar this weekend. gimmie some tips.

I would suggest learning the basic chords like A, B, F, and that stuff. Also, try to get barring down, makes life easier =).

Ermm, try to do easy stuff, learning fast riffs can be a pain as a beginner. Also, try to keep some inspiration, so you won't give up on the guitar, and give the learning some time, giving a little patience will make things better as you progress. Finally, get lessons if you can, it makes learning faster and easier than Youtube learning videos. Hope this would helped.
