  • Late to the party pal. Mobile homes have been around for 100 years and they use that novel invention called the wheel.

  • Fliers on the light poles "REWARD: Have you seen this house? Very friendly brick colonial with white trim. Missing since December. Responds to Trixie. If sighted please call..."

  • holy shit its the command centre from red alert 3

  • @Jackniksmith18 i get that thumbs up to you xD

  • Howl's Moving Castle is a young adult fantasy novel by British author Diana Wynne Jones, first published in 1986. It won a Boston Globe-Horn Book Award and was named an ALA Notable Book for both children and young adults. In 2004 it was adapted as an Academy Award-nominated animated film by Hayao Miyazaki. A sequel, Castle in the Air, was published in 1990. A second sequel, House of Many Ways was released in June 2008.

  • Howl's Moving Castle is better.

  • I'd rather live in a tumbleweed house and hook it up to my truck and move out and about

  • "This is useless. It's just a small crappy little peice of metal. Why would anyone want one?" --- Anyone who says this is an asshole and an extremly boring person who will never own a giant robot.

  • its tiny! is this even real?

  • Camebridge-shyre. Lol.

  • it looks so fake but i realized it is real and shit my pants! i want me 1

  • Walking house?? More likely a walking toilet!!

  • I want the world to be a better place and wasting time and energy is not something that i condone.. this is a waste of both even something like theo Jensons sculptures are something i find interesting because of the motive system he devised allowing me to ignore the lack of utility of the actual sculptures.. this is nothing at all you see what im trying to say? and even if you disagree thats fine i was simply stating my opinion to convey it to others you've done the same but with 0 explanation

  • its called an rv

  • theres something called a mobile home

  • um...haven't you ever heard of a camper??

  • ?????!

  • hold on ill be back in 2 hours i got to walk my house to the shit crick to drop off my sewage

  • A SUMMARY OF NOTHING (The Goose-Owner): If ever I owned a goose outright and his wing-secondaries were injured I'd likely not lose any momentum in my rush to out-whine the brunt of women who have led me astray. (To judge is to sanction.)

  • no its not a concept because a concept would entail its conceptualizing a useful idea... putting hydraulics on a wooden frame and making a very expensive very small and very inefficient camper and saying its a concept walking house is just stupid and a waste of time and money... its shit like this

  • @ladangelo202 You may not think this is a useful idea, but that doesn't mean it's not a concept. Also, your "putting hydraulics on a wooden frame" comment shows how much you really know about the project and the brain power that went into it. But, like most other people on this page, rather than pondering the possibilities a project like this could spawn in the future, you oversimplify and play intellectual. I envy your coolness, really.

Maybe your standards are skewed from the games and anime.

  • @SAWSyEntertainment no no your not understanding.... people have made mobile homes already.. this is a wooden frame with hydraulics on it.. its slow cant move over large objects or large distances and has an inefficient mechanism which propels it meaning that it necessarily can never become viable... the fact that this "concept" accomplishes nothing and contributes to nothing and developed no new systems at all and is a copy of much more impressive engineering yet instead of doing anything it

  • @ladangelo202 The woman in the video said it was made out of DONATED waste materials, so I don't know why you keep insisting it's a waste of money. And I can't imagine they would cost much more than a trailer if they were sold. It may not be cushy or ideal for some, but one could certainly survive in a space like this. Besides, she also mentioned moduals that could suit families.

And, again, I don't think getting the hydraulics to work on even flat ground without breaking the house is as simple

  • @ladangelo202 as you let on.

And here are a couple of really simple usage examples: You could move your house to a shady spot to avoid having to rely on air conditing or could move your house to a sunny spot to increase your solar power, easily, depending on your daily environment, for one. It's far more convenient, and you're not required to have a truck or car. Maybe you don't want to live in it and just need storage that can move from point A to point B a couple times a month.

  • @SAWSyEntertainment conditioning*

Those are just a couple of ways your average Joe could use these places, but perhaps there are even more ways that communities and businesses could think of to be more productive. Maybe in the future someone will look back on this prototype and perfect it or create new uses. But does it really matter? Complaining about something that can't be undone is also a waste of energy, is it not? And playing WOW is equally unproductive, too.

  • @SAWSyEntertainment oh and having m.i.t. develop some stupid hydraulics that already existed just to say m.i.t. helped then added massive metal legs to move doesn't cost 100 dollars but you wouldn't know that because you dont build things and the video games i played when i was 14 are none of your fucking concern, and explaining to retards that have never built anything in their lives how retarded they are so they go lurk and stop being retarded isnt a waste of time ... lurk moar seriously

  • @SAWSyEntertainment the power plant in this consumes more than an engine and wheels would so its not more convenient than anything and you cant just move a living quarters, rv's are used for small stretches but must be cleaned and filled with water, and fuel, everything is wireless and power is drawn from the battery which is charged by the alternator on the motor... in a house water supply, fuel supply, etc would all be coming from facilities not the vehicle itself..... i win again..

  • @SAWSyEntertainment ..... its stupid get over it .. i think it looks cool too and it would make me gasp in person and it was interesting to see but its not inspirational and forged no new ideas... it was a waste of time its useless and always will be.... the mobile home was already invented is far more efficient.. faster, more useful, larger, more comfortable, nicer, less expensive, less wasteful, less complicated, and already in production, it accomplishes more and is not a concept;get over it

  • @SAWSyEntertainment oh yeah GE built a cooler transport system in the 1960's look it up

  • @SAWSyEntertainment carries a wooden box that can hold maybe 2 people and has no other purpose.. it doesnt work as a house and wouldn't need to under any circumstances... not even nomads would find this "idea" appealing... throwing money at ignorance LIKE YOURS is the thing im upset about .. many more important projects can be carried out for less money.. i.e. recently i came across someone developing a ivt transmission for multiple applications... that is a useful idea.. explain how this is?

  • Come on, guys. This is a Concept House! Stop your bitching.

  • I was expecting the house to get up and run away while the lady started to talk at 1:01 :D That would ve been funny!! :D:D

  • Interesting.

I'm kind of it comparing it to my motorhome which is likely

    (a) 300 times as fast

    (b) 100 times less as expensive

    (c) 3 times as roomy

    (d) 3 times more good looking

But then, as she said, it was designed by an artist so you can't exactly expect it to be practical in any way, even if MIT did get involved!!

  • I hate to be negative but here goes

    1. why?

    2. it looks like shit

    3. it moves at the speed of smell

    4. not enough room to swing a cat inside

    5. why?

  • hydrolic legs?Ever hear of the wheel? Where would you "move to" in this thing? across the yard? I agree with the rest. It's small, ugly, and moves too slow. I can give someone credit for creativity, but honestly, who wants a robotic capsule bedroom as a "house"? This is a Fail.

  • its called a mobile home

  • It should have wheels on it.

  • I'm moving! haha

  • This seems to be a pretty cool concept for self contained living quarters. easily converted to be Submersible or even possible for lunar/planetary development, with a few alterations. This concept will surely be improved upon in the next few years, with the advancement of space exploration

  • cool, you don't need no stinking roads!! this could come in handy when we settle Mars.

  • I'm curious to see this thing go downhill. LOL!!

  • Howl's Moving Castle~!~!~!

  • I don't know. Wheels are much better and I'm sure wheels save more energy.

  • where's the composting toilet? I didn't see the set up from the inside. Looks very limited on space. You do need a shower and vanity.

  • i hate living next to all these niggers! fuck you niggers me and my house are out of here!

  • this is kind of useless :O it's small, ugly and slow... and I bet this thing costs a million -_-

  • @XxCrazyYoshixX This is just the beginning.

  • @XxCrazyYoshixX Yeah well you build a moving house that's fast and cheap

  • @XxCrazyYoshixX useless unless you use it to explore other planets in space.. xD

  • @XxCrazyYoshixX It's about the idea, you dildo... oh dear :/ no hope for us

  • That's a cool idea but if it were me I think I would add wheels and call it a camper!yeah yeah,i know, its more cool to involve MIT in your design development!

  • or better yet a pallet jack, to move it

  • pointless fucking waste of money! wtf you gonna do move it around the yard ta mow?

  • That is beyond stupid...

  • I personaly like the idea of taking a shit in the morning with just enough room to wake up already on the pot, and when i flush it adds to an existing pool of bacteria that will water and fertilize my carrots, peas, and soy garden just outside my window. yea my "community" will prosper, andwe will be welcome everywhere we roam. Strap a rocket to our module Maj. Tom and launch us into space where we will survive on our own "Green" bi-products. Good thinking.

  • the rocket they want to make better move faster than this walking cabin.

  • this is stupid it a slow ass rv. camper

  • Professor Frink is at it again!
