Agreed. Vegas obviously has no clue what music is. Most of the folks on CMT can neither sing (without autotune), write, nor play an insturment. They are nothing more than record company puppets. Last time I checked those guys like Jason Aldene, Johh Rich, and whoever the hell else is on CMT these days have the worst lyrics I have ever heard. Well, I don't know about the rest of the country but, here on the Red River, we know Stoney Larue and we love his music! "Mediocre" and "ok" don't describe him or his music in my opinion. This is the kind of music that we play while driving down dirt roads and falling in love and dancing with friends!! I personally love this music! Rock on Red Dirt!!!

stoney is one of the best texas country singers out there. i work for a station here in ft worth called 95.9 the ranch, and ive met alot of artist. they are all nice people and just enjoy the music,not in it for the moeny,just for the fans and love of music. nashville is all about makin the money and dont really write their own music. texas is just different. u have to be here or from here to understand.if u dont like it, keep ur opinion to urself and save urself the ass whippin from the texans.

nothing special, there are LITERALLY hundreds of thousands of people in the world with a "ok voice" "limited writing ability" and learn a few chords and sing in bars.....the next step would be to move out of Texas, theres a reason he has been playing in bars across Texas and no one has noticed him, you wont ever see him on CMT or music video awards cuz the talent you see in real musicians is clearly not there...good bar singer though.

Over time, I learned that there are hundreds of artists "under the airwaves" that don't fit the exact mold of today's pop country star or are too rebellious. Many, in fact, go out of their way to avoid that scene. Check out a live Stoney show and you'll see everything BUT a mediocre voice and guitarist.
