  • The first "fps russia guy in the world"

  • M1911 pistol is no doubt the best of the best - Happy 1911's 101th birthday!!!

  • Funny how things change so much over the years, even stances and procedures.

  • Questions for internet experts: How many times have you used a .45 in an actual gunfight? How many times have you used a 9mm in an actual gunfight? How many times have you been hit with a .45 in an actual gunfight? How many times have you been hit with a 9mm in an actual gunfight?

    Thanks for playing.

  • 2:02 Be vewy vewy qwiet, I'm hunting for wabbits...

  • Press 6.

  • The military. For those who NEED to be told how and when to wipe their asses.

  • @amitus8 why do u say that, i ask this since a majority of the country is unfit to join the military for various reasons...

  • @philliesblunt247 Sarcasm, irony. There is a big difference between the romantic view of being a soldier and having to catch bullets with your body because a 34-year old "major" told you to.

  • War.. Poking a series of holes in each other.

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • why did the us army replace the 1911 with a M9 their is no power

  • @issenterprise1

The 9mm is a fantastic round...when you're not shooting ball ammo. Thanks to the Geneva Convention, the 9mm gets really hamstrung. When shooting ball, yes .45 is a more effective round. However there is no miracle combat handgun. 7+1 is a far cry from 15+1 for capacity etc.

  • @617Ghost thanks it makes sense now but i i would still use a 1911 over a m9 thats just me but thanks

  • @617Ghost

handguns are mostly for self-defense in my humble opinion. It doesn't really matter whether you need 7+1 or 15+1 rounds (for .45 or 9mm). What matters is having the first round effective, something that a 1911 will do anytime over a 9mm.

  • @MrElliptific If you're using good defensive ammo, with jacketed hollowpoints, both rounds are very effective.

  • @MrElliptific

    Actually placement, placement, placement.

    But whatever moron.

  • This video let me know why I shoot better with my Makarov than I do with my Glock 30. The Glock grip is too fat for my hand. By trying to get my finger all the way into the trigger I was not holding the Glock lined up with my forearm. The Makarov fits my hand perfectly, so I naturally grip it properly. Now I need to take my Glock to the range and try a slightly different grip.

  • i really like those old garrison caps

  • fuck i want tracer rounds for a pistol

  • Gotta love the finger on the trigger as they set up their grip.

  • I dunno much about actually firing handguns - never fired anything more hostile than an air pistol but... In another of these US instructional films dated 1953 the instructor is demonstrating the same positions but every shot is fired using one hand. This is earlier, 1944 and the 'more modern?' two handed grip is employed

Which is the more modern - given that all movies nowadays show 'realistic' two handed grips while WWII era war movies always feature the single handed approach

  • It was kinda cool seeing the tracers bounce off the backstop during the combat shooting exercise.

  • Nobody was shooting with their middle finger. I can only assume none of these men made it back alive.

  • @Oughriend What do you mean?

  • @John234pwns I'm referring to that yahoo talking about the 1911 "fatal flaw" where he talks about how the only correct way to shoot is like you would shoot a derringer, using your middle finger on the trigger and pointing with your index finger. I don't want to encourage more traffic to the guy's site, as he's obviously a troll. But he disabled any comments on the video, and since I found this vid while looking at that one, i'm sorta commenting by proxy here :/ If you must see look up 5shot

  • @Oughriend Ah, by 5shot? Yeah, I know what you mean. It was a little absurd.

  • @Oughriend hmm, i just watched that. 1911 pistolas have been in constant use for 100 years and i have never heard of any problems. before the beaver tail grip the hammer would bite people with relatively big hands but thats about it. slide stop retention pin never comes up... oh and i never use my 'FU' finger to shoot... it's called a trigger finger for a reason.

  • so much for the 1911 haters but it did serve its purpose? DID IT NOT?

  • 1911 FTW!

  • y is the soldier running like a ape?

  • dang dropshooters.

  • I Just bought a 1911 and didn't know i wasn't gripping it correctly. This video helped me out. Why can't instruction videos now a

    days be this straight forward?

  • @guitargod259 They can get MORE MONEY out of you that way ! Old school basics are almost always best ! Its called lessons learned ! They dont train like this anymore,SAD !

  • @guitargod259 "Travis Haley on Handgun Grip" is a really good video demonstrating two-handed grip for any pistol

  • this whole video is fake... with a 1911 to hit anything everyone knows you need trijicon sights, bevoled mag well, willson combat extended controls, beavertail grip safety, full lenght guide rod, bull barrel, and 20-30 lines per inch on the front strap.

  • @dp665 thats why the 1911 stayed inthe circulation until now? and is the most copied and emulated weapon in the history of mankind, its because you can't hit anything with it,, .WHere does training fit in here? Glocks, SIG's, etc etc even special forces operators go back to the trusty ole.45 for the actual business, one shot, one accurate shot not several takes down a target.....

  • @IWASONCEAPLEBE That's a misconception - no bullet makes a guy go down in one shot. It's just, the .45 is known to be very, very slightly better than the .38 Special, 9mm Parabellum and such.

  • @dp665 Says who? If that's the only way YOU can shoot anything with the 1911/A1 that sucks for you, calling this video fake because they didn't have tac-rails & all the OPTIONS you listed are just that, OPTIONS & PREFERENCES.

  • @dp665 I know, right? Checkering tightens groups with bargain bin ammo to a half MOA!

  • thanks for the upload :D

  • This is cool man. People now days with twice the quality and sights on there 1911's couldnt dream of shooting them that well.

  • wow, .45 tracers, where do i get it?

  • @nktang

    polygunbag website

  • Thanks for posting this one... I have only seen parts of this video or film over the years.

  • i didnt know you could get 45acp tracers

  • @MacTeutates You are a good man, Mac. You stand your ground & do the right thing, which is to be as cautious as possible. Even though accident rates are at all-time lows, the fewer, the better. Nevertheless, I cannot ignore the fallacy that an unloaded gun which has been confirmed as unloaded is dangerous. Prove to me that a gun without bullets can shoot and I will change my view, but until then, the logic stands. Besides, you do realize that I am only thinking in the abstract, right?

  • @MacTeutates Guns do not kill people, bullets do. A gun without bullets is simply a clumsy club. I agree with the practice of always loaded. It is necessary because unlike these soldiers here, most of us civilians do not have a professional instructor who has spent 10-20 years learning how to keep soldiers from killing themselves. However, if you have the right training, then I don't think it is strictly necessary to treat an unloaded gun as loaded. These soldiers had the right training.

  • Hello. Did these men use hearing protection?? I cannot see any ear plugs. Using the .45acp cartridge on a regular basis without any hearing protection can & will cause permanent damage. If anyone knows I sure would appreciate having that knowledge with me. Thank You. Sincerely, JAMES.

  • @buzzclark Good question (I am a WWII re-enactor and asked around about this)....I know in Battle they didn't because they wouldn't be able to hear commands, or at night, hear the enemy. As for while in training I cannot say 100% yes or no, I would have to say no because money and resources at the time were being used to make weapons, gear, ammo, etc. and the War Dept. figured earplugs/hearing protection was an un-needed expense. Cotton was used in the Civil War as "ear plugs" maybe in WWII also

  • @David441330 Well, let me tell you - IF I WAS ONE OF THEM - I would invest in some plastic plugs or silicone - whatever they had back then as ear plugs. I tried one shot with a .45acp And my ears were ringing for hours afterward. That's why when veterans return fron war one of a similar ailment is hearing loss. Thanks for the great video on what it was like back then. THX. Sincerly, JAMES.

  • @buzzclark Ear protection was not a major concern until well after WW2, when the government began to realize that it paid to not deafen your soldiers unnecessarily. In ww2, most believed it was more important to get soldiers used to the sound of guns in training, since combat is a lousy place to get used to anything in. Artillery was different, because some weapons could burst the ears & commands could be done visually for the most part.

  • The scary thing is I've counted so many safety violations it's insane. They're always putting their fingers on the triggers and their muzzle discipline sucks. I lost count of the number of times the instructor or students pointed the pistols at each other.

  • @CelticArmory "The scary thing is I've counted so many safety violations it's insane" This is WW2 Army Safety. Recall that at 3:23, they check the guns to see if loaded. Once a gun is known to be unloaded, it is completely safe. Treating a gun as loaded at all times is a product of modern gun-control demands, not based on real safety concerns. A gun without bullets cannot shoot anything, and these professional soldiers know that. Note they are a helluva lot more careful once rounds are loaded.

  • This is better hangun training than I recieved in the US Army in 1983!

  • Thank you, excellent video....

  • the more things change...

  • Pistol shooting techniques and methods have improved A LOT in just 60 years.

  • lol at the teacup grip. old-school!

  • Ain't those guys know how to indeed "squeeze" the trigger in long range target? they have several miss shots because they tap & pull not squeeze.

  • Apparently, they had different notions than we do today about trigger fingers and muzzle direction.

  • While all the folks in that video are either dead or on social security, virtually all the lessons are applicable to today's shooting.

Good video from an old squid.

  • Sadly, other than a basic range qual, watching the video is probably the most training most guys got with the pistol.

  • check out the technique on cappy at 6:00

  • and dont shoot the instructor when using the rigid grip!!!!

  • Great gun, very convincing catridge....

  • are these real?
