Seeing things like this just gives you faith in human nautre.
No one is angry, no one is fighting, they all just want to get their fellow racer out of his car.
I saw something similar in Trails motorbikes, when some fellow bikers were positioned on the track to help other drivers get over hard rocks etc, one fell back down a hill, and the sheer leap that this other guy made to catch the bike and stop it falling on them.
This is exactly what friendly competition should be, Great vid!
It must be the coolest feeling in the world after a crash like that, when the first person to open the door to help you out is one of your competitors. Not just one either. There were more racers around the car than marshals! Simply outstanding.
@JAW636Jesse he´s doing that because thats the end of the crash zone... the crash happens before him so he must wave the green flag for the other cars that they can drive on race speed when they pass the crashed cars (sorry for my bad english)
@JAW636Jesse yeah unfortunately as a ex CAMS marshal for the clipsal 500 and AGP its not the marshals desicion to put out the red flag. race control are the ones to decide and they spread the word via radio. which they did 30 seconds later.
yeah you don't see this in much of the overseas races but its good to see the sportsmanship
craig lounds 1999 caulder park that was 1 of the worlds most remembered crashes because it stopped the hole race and most of the drivers jumped out of there cars to go to craigs aid it was also the last time in 10 years that lounds raced in a holder untill yesterday 10/10/10 he teamed up with mark scafie and finnished first for the 2010 bathurst 1000
I love seeing this type of sportsmanship specially in motorsports..love the v8's. i live in the states and never seen that done here..all i've seen is helmets being thrown at other drivers and fights. Though I have a lot of respect for NASCAR drivers specially the OG's like the late Dale ( good bless him up there ) i've never attended a race. I hope one day we can have the same type of brotherhood amongst drivers...keep it up Aussies..
@ROONTANG Thats to notify drivers where they can attempt overtaking. There's another flagman before the crash who would be holding the yellow flag up.
@pirateshell My dumbass brother used my acount and sent that comment on this vid. I love watching racing from other countries, i think other foriegn drivers are the best in the world. Im a huge NASCAR fan and guys like Marcos ambrose from Australia, Max Papis from Italy, and Narian K. from India are all very inspiring.
Big hit, that. What people sometimes forget about that weekend was there was a bigger accident in Formula Ford where Justin Cotter ended up half way up the embankment...
Thats the best crash ever in the v8s

You can tell V8 supercars never flip because every driver went over to his car. NASCAR has far worse wrecks.
