MARAVILLOSO MISTERIO FLOTANDO ENEL AIRE... ME RECUERDA LA MAGNIFICA INTERPRETACION DE PETER PEARS CON BRITTEN AL PIANO, OTRO TREMENDISIMO TRABAJO! JOYAS DE LA MUSICA!
I posted translations to most of these songs as put on YouTube today. If the song text was too long to be accepted as a first post, my "reply" starts the poem, and the text continues in the "original" post. Arthur Rishi is the translator of all of these.
There, behind the village, stands a hurdy-gurdy-man, And with numb fingers he plays the best he can. Barefoot on the ice, he staggers back and forth, And his little plate remains ever empty. No one wants to hear him, no one looks at him, And the hounds snarl at the old man. And he lets it all go by, everything as it will, He plays, and his hurdy-gurdy is never still. Strange old man, shall I go with you? Will you play your hurdy-gurdy to my songs?
This is my favorite song of the cycle. His eyes are so haunting, and he expresses everything so well. I listen to this everyday; it's very, very well done.

the hurdy-gurdy man. the final song of the cycle, where after the pain he goes thrugh, ends up turning into something malignant and abnormal.
