this review is genius, the makeup vibe has been described as an Oedipus lipstick vibe, its a reverse psychology, the scent is amazing, one of the most elegant, some will say feminine , but in this day and age, those stereotypes in fragrance are fading..

Agreed, when you have Dior Homme for $47 for 50 mL, and you can get double the juice for $74? Maybe its the Costo-shopper in me, but the math just doesn't lie. Just bought a 100 mL of this yesterday, have no regrets going for the big bottle, even if I'll never see the bottom it.

This has been reformulated , they have taken a lot of the iris out , the original formulation was heavy on iris.

there is no makeup/lipstick accord in Dior Homme Intense;

but, in Dior Homme, it is very much so there due 2 these 3 notes:

( ORRIS + CACAO + LEATHER)

so it's "ORRIS" not iris !

Dior Homme Intense has the "iris" instead of the "ORRIS" that is in Dior Homme...the makeup note is way less intense in the intense version...so the chemistry of the iris in Dior Homme Intense...gives it more of a powdery sweet-playdough accord...

My absolute favourive fragrance... this smells like heaven ! I fell in love with from the first second after I apllied it ! PLEASE don't buy the "normal EDT version" and take my advice: buy Dior Homme Intense (which is EDP) ! It is MUCH better then the original... and like 2 times stronger... believe me ! That one lasts 4 ever ! The reason that I like Dior Homme this much (it's my favourive fragrance) is for that "lipstick/makeup" iris/chocholate note... it's what makes it soo special !

Love DH and intense...being a lady I could not resist the cosmetic scent of them two....but also love lavender, iris and chocolate/vanilla. DH is one of the best scents I have ever smelled. Semi-gourmand, medium-sweet and floral-woody. I love this composition.

Are you reviewing Dior homme EDT 2005 or the Dior Homme Cologne 2007. As the EDT was released in 2005 and cologne was released in 2007. The EDT is a lot softer and sweeter than the cologne, they do have noticable difference I find, with the cologne a tad bit of citrus. Just wondering because your review sounds like the EDT, but your description say cologne and the year is incorrect for cologne. 2005 was the Dior Homme EDT. Plus the cologne and EDT have two different Perfumers.

This is going to sound crazy... but you need to try Michael Jordan's Legend. This is a cheap gourmand type cologne. Really interesting. Was shocked and surprised.

One of the best scents for me. It's unique very remarkable and never boring. Also the Intense version is less powdery and less lipstick smelling than this. But I own both of them and Dior homme is my third bottle already. Very well constructed.

Great review Marc! Like you I only wear this for special events, I prefer Intense for most other times. I actually got a friend hooked on this stuff I wore it to a nice wedding with a suit, at first he hated it and was talking shit about it...until he saw how many compliments I was getting with it, now he loves this shit and wears it as his sig. scent LOL...I personally think it takes confidence to wear this scent if you don't wear this proud you should not wear it at all IMHO LOL...
