Macho Man selling the knee ages after the bell, thats psychology that just doesn't happen anymore, wrestler's these days forget which parts of the body they've been working on
@jcp1977 Well, there are the Samoans, the Moondogs, the Executioners, the US Express, the Valiant Brothers, the Blackjacks, the Yukon Lumberjacks, Mr. Fuji & Mr. Saito, Luke Graham & Tarzan Tyler, King Curtis Iaukea & Baron Scicluna, Mr. Fuji & Prof. Tanaka, The British Bulldogs & The Headshrinkers.
@josephD32 Looking from 1987 to 1992 (with title strippages/tourney wins included) in 1987 there were 5 title changes, 9 title changes in 1988*, 6 title changes in 1989, 7 title changes in 1990*, 8 title changes in 1991* and 12 title changes in 1992*
* Denotes a year where a title strippage and/or a tourney win took place.
Just for the record, the Women's title actually changed hands twice during 1986. On July 3, Velvet McIntyre defeated Moolah in Brisbane, Australia. However, six days later, Moolah defeated Velvet in a rematch in Sydney, Australia. Those title changes must not have been recognized during that period.
I used to know Velvet, and there's an interesting sidenote to her time as champion in Australia.
At one of the Australian events, they had a women's title match booked. Because of a local law against live women's wrestling in that town, they set up a big screen and aired a tape of one of their matches from one of the other Australian cities.
@Tubewings Since 1996 there have been previously unrecognized reigns coming to light. Antonio Inoki's WWF title reign, Harley Race winning his 8th NWA World title in 1984 in New Zealand, Ted DiBiase's 5 day reign as WWF World Champion in February 1988 all come to mind.

I wonder if Ozzy even remembers being at Wrestlemania 2 in the corner of the Bulldogs.

Can anybody name the tag team combinations that Captain Lou has managed to Championship Gold? I know the Bulldogs are one of those teams

Something else that is different from today's wrestling: "the two title changes in 1986"
Hell, you may have two title changes in two hours now, heh.

They have more titles change hands in a month today than they did in a year back then. (sigh) how I long for the good old days....
