@taijiman7777 - Try the Shaolin-Do school. They are pretty comprehensve and the teachers (sifus) are always glad to discuss applications with the students. I have been attending teh Saholin-Do sschool in Austin, TX for 2 years studying Taichi. The longer I study it the more amazing it is.
im looking to join up to a tai chi class in oxford, do you know any teachers that will help me learn the sort of things you are doing in this video? thanx toby
I believe i commented before on another video, but tutorials for tai chi dont really help a beginner or at all. This is what i believe You must practice the form of whatever style you are learning. Make sure you are able to do it smooth and CORRECTLY most important. foot stance is key. with no strong base how is it possible to have a strong upper body. After a You must learn to do pushhands, were you will utilize the form you have learned, you will gain fast reflexes and much more.
Is tai chi application after touch? what I mean is that you don't exchange punches and kicks ,but try to use the contact of your bridge as a source of information so as to defeat him based on the energy given through contact. Is it a good idea to use a grab or controlling action on the opponents bridge in order to feel and manipulate him? Thank you for your first response sinclair Sifu.
Grabbing is not preferred. One resorts to it when superior skill fails. Grabbing, even a brief plucking, interferes with proper following and sticking.
Ironically, contact is not actually required for sticking. If I need to touch in order to connect, I am not ready for fighting. Punches and kicks also belong to push hands skills. Pung, lu, ji, and an, can be done with fists and feet as well.
how is this used against a fully resisting opponent. especially one who is trying to hit and run around? How do you go about closing the gap on a opponent who is trying to circle around you like a boxer? how do make the transition from push hands to sparring ? nice video
bloody amazing! not sure all taichi schools (in uk any way) teach the combat side though.

what happened if the guy that its grabbing you resists your techinque in 1:38, or in the 4:24 part??
P.D i really want to learn Tai-Chi

@MauREAPER1313
In the first case, it would be nearly impossible to resist.
In the second one, you would hope that they do resist.

@taijiman7777 Wow would you ever use someof this against jiu jitsu or anything?

Thanks. You ask good questions. I give long answers. This series did not address basic concepts as closing & entering. Some short answers:
1. If done properly, it is easier against an opponent who is resisting.
2. If they move, learn to stick and follow in a circle (in all ranges)
3. Closing the gap requires timing and awareness. If you can be fast, use that too. Tuishou will help you enter "eyes open."
4. The transition to sparring is organic. But sparring is not fighting.
