Eh this version is OK, but for 1 thing, its to slow, The genesis version seams faster, and this also isnt that loud, probibly because of the added bass.
Forgot to say did anyone else think at the time? That some of the ideas and themes and music in the game could have come from the transformers movie back in the 80's??
awesome! awesome! This is one of those games that sticks in my head, I couldn't get over how good the music was for a 16bit-er at the time.. and even today years and years on it's still sweet!!
Song is amazing and hilarious at the same time. My friends and i typically make parody lyrics about Jesus making us food and many other things. Lately, it's been "Big Ass Monkey" when 0:46 starts playing. Long story, it's just an awesome theme that you can sing almost anything with.
Oh yeah! I know when I was playing Turrican I and II (on Atari ST) for hours without the need for food or drink ;o) Unfortunetly I've never played other parts on Consoles or the Amiga, because the Music is amazing on that machines!!
Thank you sooooo much for posting this. I listen to this track all the time but the only way to find this track is on some low quality youtube music compilation. This is one of my all time favorite tunes, you have no idea how awesome it is that you posted this!
Possibly the best in the game. The Genesis "Mega Turrican" version of this is also awesome. I actually enjoy the Mega Turrican soundtrack more than the two SNES Turrican OSTs even considering the audio capabilities of the Genesis were inferior to the SNES. This and Stage 3-1's theme from "Mega Turrican" are great.
I notice that the tempo for a lot of the Turrican 3 and Super Turrican tracks is a bit slower than in the original Mega Turrican version. This one and the Amiga version of this track are good examples.

One of the few games where I would play just to hit certain stages (like this one), find a safe spot to stand, and listen in awe. Thanks SD!

I FOUND IT!
For the people that are curious about this song at the Amiga port, you can listen to it in the "Turrican 3" version, stage 2-1 (if I am not mistaken)

I want to hear the Amiga version of this tune. Does anybody know if it was on the first or second Amiga Turrican, and which stage was it?
Thanks.

One of my favorite OSTs of all time. Sometimes I just play the game to hear the music.

You should read up on composers and write that down as well, this is a tribute to the creators of the music right ?

Did Chris Huelsbeck write the SNES version music too or was he only involved with the Amiga versions?
Babybahamut 2 years ago
Yes he did.
SupraDarky 2 years ago
He has been involved in everything Factor 5 related, which includes the Amiga Turrican games, the MD Mega Turrican and the SNES Super Turrican games.

Having Dolby Surround was pretty impressive at that time. Factor 5 always tries to push the technology.
SupraDarky 2 years ago
@SupraDarky Too bad Factor 5 went under. Just look at Rouge Squadron for the Gamecube...that too was very impressive for 2001!

Ripped from the 90's? The game was released in the 90's, so I guess it should sound like that decade :)
