  • Only the media, bloggers and vloggers use the term "iphone killer". Neither Apple, Verizon, or any other carrier uses that term. iphones don't need to be killed because they are a great product. Without them, we wouldn't have the Droid.

  • answer: every droid device is an iphone killer^^

  • FAIL the droid failed, they had to make a new one wich also failed, iphone PWNZ

  • The only thing that the iCan't...i mean iPhone has on the Droid is 3G speed

The Droid has beaten the iPhone, on all aspects. You can make the argument about the iPhone being the 1st of it kind...but that only speaks wonders for the Droid

The Droid simply beat the iPhone at it's own game. End of Story.

Not saying the iPhone is bad. It's an amazing phone

    But the Droid is better.

    Great vid

  • You may have to wait a tick to get everything you want, but its coming. I like both the iphone and the Droid... but the Verizon network is the standout for me. The best phone and "cloud" experience gets dulled in a hurry without a decent backbone network. Good video, though. Gets you thinking about what you really want in a "fancy phone" : )

  • My goodness. The iPhone is the phone for you! There is an app called "Music2" made by Simplify which allows you to stream all of your music over the internet, as you said "The Cloud". There is also a picture application for all of your photos. Furthermore, with a 32gb hd on the iPhone 3GS you will have enough storage to hold a solid amount of video.

With the iPhone YOU CAN stream your media from the cloud.

Did I mention wireless tethering? Yep. The iPhone (unofficially) does it, very well.

  • Droid is still a \better phone on a better network and I just think how its so funny that the ONLY people calling the iphone a better phone are owners of the iphone because if you ask people who don't own a iphone or a droid they well tell you Droid

  • The fact that Verizon has a better network is highly subjective. It's 3g network, although larger, is significantly slower than ATTs. Their calling networks are almost identical.

And how is it accurate to ask people who own neither the Droid nor the iPhone. Surely it would be best to hear the opinions of people who ACTUALLY own the phones. Consumers may be lead to think the Droid is superior because of its advertisements making direct comparisons to the iPhone.

    You probably own a droid

  • significantly slower? that's a good one because my mom has At&t and I have Verizon and I can tell you for a fact based on my own experience that Verizon is faster and works in more places because my mom is always asking me to use my phone because she is always in a dead zone when my phone is still working.

No I'm talking about people that have used both phones you can know about something without owning it.

    You probably own a iphone

  • I'm also getting so sick of all you iphone users saying that the iphone is the best phone ever made just because Apple made it I know all about the iphone and let me tell you it might be the most over rated phone in the history of the world. Sure it's great at running apps but I want a phone that can do everything and that's not the iphone and now that a better phone has came out you Apple fans can;t live it.

If you Apple fans have not used the Droid then don't talk about it I have used both.

  • I do own an iPhone but I have also extensively used each Andriod platform that has thus far been released. I can say with confidence that ATT has a *faster 3g* network. This has also been proved and is legally acceptable to say, hence why practically all ATT ad's promote this fact.

I love my iPhone and I think androids are great, well some of them. But the iPhone is honestly what I believe to be a better phone. In response to ANYTHING anyone says about the Droid, my response is iTunes syncing.

  • Just because a ad says something does not mean its true because At&t also promotes that they work in more places vs Verizon and they don't at least not the places that me and my mom go bottom line I have had first hand experiences with both networks and you have not and I can tell you Verizon is faster.

I love my Droid and I honestly believe that its a better phone and my response to ANYTHING anyone says about the iphone is replaceable battery

  • thats a good point i like that.. at&t can have jesus christ wrapped in plastic as a phone, but it would still suck! :) verizons coverage is so much better

  • Last night I toke my Droid out with me for a few hours and by the sound of my voice I was able to tell the Droid where I was going and it got me there with no issues The Droid is nothing short of being amazing

  • the droid has a map for that though.. and is a bit faster.

  • i think u meant 3g tethering why would u tether wifi when ur laptop can just connect to the wifi. 3g tethering is verizons 3g being able to be tethered through ur phone to the laptop

  • The iphone has a cloud media app called simplify media. I can actually access my friends library's too. Not sure if it works with Android but if not it's probably just a matter of time.

  • did you give blood?

  • WOW guy this is all you have to say about the droid. With the internet package that you get with verizon you could buy or download free songs straight to your phone (it's what i do) and you can buy an sd card with enough memory to store all of them. I understand that it is alot of money but you get what you pay for, live tv, apps (FOR SONGS), GPS, internet etc. What else do you need exactly to buy a nice phone? I would say it does more than enough to keep you entertained and making calls.

  • Thats cool I was just joking about the other thing, i just found it funny

  • So... I was just wondering why you have some pink stuff wrapped around your arm. I think someones been shooting up the "good stuff" before you made this video.......... oh so that's where the "cloud" idea about that crazy thing called the internet pops into your mind, right?

  • I wondered if anyone would notice that :) Sorry to disappoint but I gave some plasma earlier that day and I think the pink bandage was in honor of breast cancer awareness month. Boring, but true.

  • The htc hd2 has wifi tethering.

  • Blah... for a guy with all that equipment, the audio in the vid is weak. Anyways, this is a phone, its supposed to make you more productive, not let you put 200gigs of movies on your phone to watch on a 3in screen.

  • Sorry MammaMax, The equipment is for the radio show, the vids are shot with a cheap Vado HD. I think it does the trick, but I agree it certainly could be much better. I do like the vid quality for a cheap little handheld though. As to your second point, what if watching movies on the go is part of my productivity? Half kidding, but again the point isn't what I need, it's what I want before I drop big money on a phone.

  • I get that you want a do-it-all unit, but the demand to watch blu ray movies on a 3 inch screen is not so high. I myself haven't put any MP4 or otherwise video on my phone, and I don't plan to. If I can hold all of my music, and email, and surf the web, the phone is more than adequate. And to answer your tethering question, the droid and the Omnia 2, both from Verizon have wifi tethering.

  • Thanks for the info on the wifi tethering, that may put the Droid over the top in my opinion, I use video on my ipod for podcasts and portable movies to plug into the vehicle for the kiddos. Again, my purpose is convergence. I don't want to invest until my phone becomes my sole pocket device. Camera (Still and Video), GPS, IPod, etc. and the newer phones are getting close for sure.

  • Guy what r u talking about cloud or hard drive space the future is streaming.like netflix or rhapsody apps it's like having a terabyte of space on ur phone unlimited music or vid

  • I hear ya'. But there is still strikes me as valid about content ownership especially with music. It's the collectors mentality. Streaming and Cloud computing are not really that much different, it's just a matter of selective access. Overall though, I think you are correct, streaming and subscription will be the primary model of the digital distribution future.

  • this droid will never beat the iphone. It looks cheap and seriously motorola is making it. CMON KNOW.

  • pastordice this is to you

first of all why would you put 73gb of music on your phone!!! how does that make any sense!! You're never going to listen to all those songs anyways if you had a life.

  • I admit I'm the strange one, but I like having the option if the mood strikes to dig back into the old stuff or to throw it on random and hear stuff I haven't heard in a long time. It's not a need, it's a want, but before I spend a couple hundred bucks on a phone it's something I'm going to consider.

  • I think I'm gonna pick up a Droid. The 5MP camera is fine for me, I don't need a 15MP DSLR to take my pictures. I heard it is lightning fast, I already have a Zune HD for all my music, and other kinds of media, all I need is a phone, and a camera. I will also use the Droid as my mobile we browser most likely, and it can run simultaneous apps which is really cool. I am in high school, and text very often (anywhere from 75-100 texts a day), and the real keyboard is definitely nice.

  • i enjoyed listening to your opinion.. I have an app called simplify media. This allows me to access my 20 gigs of music and pictures from my pc. I can watch my podcast on the fly so no worries there. I use a program called TVersity to stream or download video files from PC to my phone. Tethering is coming soon, if you jailbreak you can do it now. (apple built it in). I love my iphone, hate ATT and i am liking what i see from the Droid. My phone does everything except flash ^^

  • Actually, I found your commentary quite interesting. Hopefully, Google competing for iTune space will be the front line of the next battle with Apple.

As for iPhone's 32 GB. I have well over 20 GB of music on my Zen media player right now, and I still haven't finished ripping all my CDs. Oh yes, and then there's movies, etc...

  • Thanks :) I think the market is ripe for some competition in the media library and content delivery space, and if Google managed to pull off a cloud based media service to add to Picassa and GDocs things could get very interesting very fast.

  • uhhhh the iPhone has a 32GB version. I would love to see you fill up 32 gigs with all of your music, YEAH RIGHT!

  • My music is currently at 73 gigs so 80 gigs would suffice but not leave much room for other data or any video stuff. Like I said, I think data storage will move to "the cloud" for both Apple (with their MobileME) and Google so it will be a mute point, but until then it's a tough sell for me.
