Hi James, I'm doing a roll by crossing rows, so that the five notes of the roll come in the same direction, for instance the G roll near the beginning of the Gander in the Pratie Hole is all on the draw, GAGF#G, using the G on the D row, A and F# on the G row. You can also get a G roll on the press, (G on G row, A and F# on D row), A roll (ABAGA) on the draw, A on G row, B and G on D row. Once you get the hang of these you'll probably find other possibilities, hope this helps, Cathy
hi Cathy have been watching your videos for sum time i also play the d,g button accordion in a very Irish way the only thing i haven't got the hang of is the lovley ornament that you do in most of your tunes its much like a 5 note roll can you please emplane how to do it it would be much appreciated thanks James. PS its grate that you r playing the d,g this style and havent gone over to b,c i am adamant that i wouldn't learn b,c as sum1 told me you couldent play Irish on d,g how wrong they are
