stock suspension is not that great on the stangs, the s197s have a better set up then the sn95's. The chassis is a little more ridged too. The four link rear is a good starting point, once you get rid of the upper control arms (after you install a torque arm bar and watts link) you will have a great setup.
The griggs racing mustang pulls very high G numbers.
actually the new mustangs really cant that well. the roushs yes they are hella better on the turns. the regular mustang gts are ok but not omg. the suspension is alright but the brakes are horrible. the reason i say this is because i own a 05 mustang gt and in the process of getting roush suspension and big brake kit. already have roushcharger in it.
completely agree. My dad has an 06gt...it was absolute crap in the corners till he got the ford racing suspension kit, and some 275" rear tires. He still doesn't trust it giving it the slightest extra power in the corners (due to the whipple supercharger), but the turn in is a lot better.

wow you're stupid, did you see how he had to slow down? he must have been going around the first corner at like 5 mph. if you know anything about cars, you could see that the mustang was struggling on the ring. to be honest, i dont know why somebody would even bring a mustang to the nurburgring, unless they wanted to die. thank god this guy was a good driver so he handled it ok.
It was a stock mustang on street tires come on. I ran VIR with my Automatic 2005 GT and out paced BMW's in my same class. and my car is setup for drag racing, I run 12.29 @ 110 with bolt-ons.
@coolerdude44 did you not see the guy waving a yellow flag? that's why he slowed. solid rear axle may not be the best for road racing, it's not going to cause you to crash if you know what to expect from it. automatic is annoying though... lol. besides, they make IRS kits for those anyway. or you can pay roush to do it for you.
@coolerdude44 thats what makes it special no other company can get a car this good with that suspension. look at the new 5.0 gt videos they are sure to surprise you. :)

the mustang is made more for drag racing, that's why it's not good on turns. that's why they put a solid rear axel

I don't know. It's good an' that, but really, an automatic on a road course is just unseemly

@HeavyGhost yeah i've actually seen a mustang on the road with wishbones in the rear suspension.
still, it just really really grinds my gears that a 300 bhp sports car (soon to be 415 bhp sports car) is still sold with prehistoric suspension.
