  • From her back you can notice that she was a great champion swimmer in her youth. All men wish having an athletic back like that!!

  • I love her! She was so beautiful, I was so sad to find out that she had passed away. She is so much fun to watch. Thank you so much for sharing.

    Ginger

  • not a skinny woman.

  • She gave Bennett a big smacker on the face!

  • What a beautiful woman.

  • Bennett Cerf got her drunk after the show -- and they read a book together.

  • @62easthar62 Ahhh! Bookreading is it called now?

  • That snarl she gives in some of her photographs frightened me to death when I was thirteen!

  • Aloha Miss Jane...such a great lady.

  • I hated to hear of the passing of Miss Jane Russell. Jane was a beautiful, beautiful woman. They don't make 'em like that anymore!! Jane was at least 1000 times more beautiful than today's beauty queens. Jane was at least 1000 times more talented than Kim Kardashian for example. Plus Jane's beauty was all natural. That is more than I can say for Kim. Goodbye Jane. Your like we will never see again.

  • Jane, RIP - so talented, so beautiful!

  • What a beauty! And so classy!

  • Movie Star. Rest in Peace.

  • She was a symbol of WW2 that I will never forget. I remember a picture in which one of the service men pointed to her picture and said, "that's what we're fighting for." Many of the service men carried her picture or put them up on their planes, etc. Her curves were famous! I wish someone could put up her famous picture. A sad day and passing of an era. . .

  • Goodbye, Jane. You were not just a celebrity, you were a beautiful, classy star. I'm sorry to see you go.

  • Early 1957

  • Question. in what year was this show?

  • one person pressed Dislike when they found out just how dangerous Jane's curves were

  • Rest In Peace, pretty girl.

  • RIP Ms Russell

  • It's just like Rhett said of Scarlett, "What a woman"! Very believable and always likeable.

  • Beautiful woman. I love her face around 1:54

  • Come back Jane! RIP sweet angel. From Texas. What a sad day...

  • I can't believe she is gone! She went peacefully and thats all that matters.RIP Jane

  • How old was she when she lost her looks?

  • @MyMerlin1 89

  • @genesislover 1989

  • @MyMerlin1 no, she was 89. 'twas yesterday when she lost her looks.

  • R.I.P.Jane Russell

  • <3 In Loving Memory.

  • RIP beautiful lady

  • Year?

  • @weightfeather1

Haha I was thinking the same thing!

  • Seems like the host was embarrassed to say, "Fuzzy pink nightgown." He sort of mumbled it! Beautiful woman, I'll always remember her, "Crosss your heart commercials!"

  • Jane's appearance reminds me of Sela Ward in this footage. Jane, of course, was a much bigger star in her days that Ward was in the 1990s, but I until I saw this I hadn't noticed the resemblance.

  • She seems so nice and funny

  • I am so proud to have a personalised autograph of Jane Russel ;D

  • Cerf, the eternal wet blanket.

  • Bennett Cerf almost always came up with a left field question that gave away the celebrities identity. I firmly believe he always knew before hand who the guest was

  • Wow!! What a beauty and so at ease and confident in her manner. Jane Russell is a revelation to me. I'd heard of her but never was too aware of her persona. I'm really bowled over by her. She's very relaxed and self assured. Thanks for posting this.

  • She is a very wonderful woman. Still is.

  • That there is a WOMAN! The way they ought to look. Wow!

  • she may be the sexiest woman I've ever seen, wow

  • 5:55 Example # 57,204 of why Ernie Kovacs was one of the all-time geniuses of Comedic wit.

  • She is SOOO TALENTED! This is what i would call a woman. She has curves and is still a great girl! God Bless her that she's still alive

  • I love Jane. She is so beautiful and has brains.

  • Who is this chick?

  • Comment removed

  • @weightfeather1 LAMBCHOP WAS THE BEST EVER! A cute character with the voice of a chain smoking old woman

  • Super!!! I like her so much!!!)))

  • Gosh I like her..=)

  • So, she never explained what "two comedians" she had worked with.

  • its crazy to think marilyn monroe could still be alive because jane is still here

  • @mhezzy

yep the kennedys were alive and rfk and his mob buddies killed her

  • Superb clip

  • what a knock out!!!!

  • that hair wasn't flattering at all.

  • That subtle insult about Brando at 5:58 was hilarious. Almost seemed accidental :P

    This was quite funny :P

  • I love her little victory hand shake with Daly at 2:09 ;-D after the "sometimes" quip. She cracked herself up :P

  • Hi, anyone knows how contact the manager of Jane for a documentary about her that I would realize in spring 2011?

    Thanks. Gianluca

  • Howard Hughes made Jane famous with a teasing titillating movie poster for The Outlaw. Poster was made a year before they even had a script. He insured her breasts with Lloyds of London and stipulated in her contract she could not drive in a car at a speed above 30 miles an hour for fear a sudden bump might cause her fanulous boobs to sag. LOL Sounds like sordid Hollywood legend but it's a fact.

  • I had fun!

  • "are you a brunette?" "sometimes" hahahahahaha! :)

  • Wow, no...and I've never been aware of the fact that such a version existed!

  • She is indeed gorgeous, a true glamour girl...I totally adore her in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes." (Of course, I adore Marilyn in that film as well, but I honestly think they each brought out the best in each other...)

And not only is she good-looking, she's got good brains, too!

  • Have you seen the other version of that film, with Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor?

  • Mannnn.......

Sometimes, there are no other words. Ms. Jane in cropped, black hair filling out a beautiful white dress. And when she smiles, bemused at the guesses from the panel- OMG!!

  • Arlene's mask is cracking me up...lol with those eyes and and the eye lashes. I know she has worn them in other episodes but this one is differently funny haha

  • Thanks for uploading all of these videos!! They rock!!! I love all of these stars...

Jane Russell is one of my favs :D She's amazing.

  • Jane was always bright as a penny, took a very intellectual approach to her career. She was a big girl with sharp features who knew how to package herself to be a bigger than life beauty. She was incredibly versatile--she could do drama, comedy and musicals with equal facility. Marilyn Monroe, who costarred with her in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," adored her for her generosity, kindness and professionalism.

  • legend

  • I loved the time there was another mystery guest and (I think) it was Bennett that queried, "Are you Jane Russell?" It wasn't and he explained (paraphrasing), I saw her and I thought her denials seemed rather false, whereby Dorothy quipped, "That's the ONLY thing about her that's false". That's one of my favorite moments. If it's posted I haven't run across it yet.

  • Oh, I just watched it last night, but I can't remember who the guest was. Sorry. I think it's one of crepehanger's. Maybe Esther Williams?

  • "Are you married to somebody who is well known too?"

    "...To What?"

    hahahaha...I LOVE HER!

  • Summer 1957: in this period, Ernie Kovacs auditioned as the WML fourth panelist. Arlene Francis broke her foot. YouTube has two WML clips with Jane Russell and she is hysterically funny in both. Thanx for posting. Ah Jane. Va Va Va Voom.

    "I may kill you." "Nevertheless - - -" LOL

  • Love Jane- one of the most gorgeous of the classic Hollywood glamour girls.
