Huh...snow in Indiana in June, tree decorations and other Christmas related things, and Nazi zombies on American soil....

The only rational explanation is that zombies were being brought back over stateside to be studied and broke out(go figure) during or near Christmas. The U.S government probably then proceeded to bomb cities with nukes to keep the disease from spreading, possibly causing nuclear winter. Now as to how they could contain so many zombies safely up to that point, I don't know.

Wouldnt it be awesome if Treyarch released a game ONLY for CoD Zombies? it could have its own storyline campaign and everything. Maybe even some modes where more than 4 people can play together.
