I agree Avatar has a predictable story, but it's no more predictable than most movies. It also has really polar characters. But part of that meeting expectations is necessary for the audience to know what's going on, you know? I thought it was good. Definitely not just special effects porn.

But I complain about that too...but at least thats something Ive experienced. Ive never been in a gay community so I have no idea, really, what it would be like. I can only go by what I've read. Like, Ive adopted the idea that once you're past 40 you're automatically dead to the rest of the gay community...True? Ive convinced myself that its true. Am I wrong?

(that being said, the music she sells is still crap. I wish she'd produce music worthy of her voice. Seriously. She could be the next belting diva. But she wants to do this artsy stuff, which is more art than music. Not necessarily a problem, but I want to hear the MUSIC when I turn on a CD, not imagine the costumes and dance!)

I agree Avatar has a predictable story, but it's no more predictable than most movies. It also has really polar characters. But part of that meeting expectations is necessary for the audience to know what's going on, you know? I thought it was good. Definitely not just special effects porn.
However, I do judge stuff like that that I shouldn't... like how (I hate to admit this) I thought lady gaga was just crazy, but she's actually a talented singer with a nice mulitmedia approach to her music.

I'm actually the same way- but there are points where you just have to admit that something is cool because it's cool, whether one person likes it, or one million. I haven't seen the movie, but even from a technical standpoint, they did some pretty cool stuff to make it all work as well as it does.

Jack! You are me. I am the same way. Mine is more on the music side. When all i hear is about one particular band or artist, I am so sick of hearing about it that i try to not like it. And sometimes i have not even heard the music. I search the web for the small independent artist. I have found some excellent ones by the way. So I get you. I think it's human nature in a way. I also haven't seen Avatar, but am tired of hearing about it. I will probably see it and probably like it. ha ha
