@CoatlEndeavours Are you fucking retarded? I hope youre not a music producer. Every single professional mixes the stuff, or else its going to sound crap. and please ,if so, name ONE famous mix or a work of yours that doesnt have :P
@stainrtw: mastering puts the final polish on a mix. a good mix won't be radio-loud and sparkly; it'll be clear. mastering takes it to the next level.
@stainrtw Mastering is a very subjective thing really. It's generally what happens after Mixing. Sometimes the mix is go good that you just need a hint of volume boost or compression, maybe a little verb and you're done. Sometimes it's a lot more. It's not any specific process. Also, an important part of mastering a CD would be to make sure all the tracks have a similar volume level, if you get what I mean. It can mean many different things.
Such retarded questions "Do you ever use EQ? Compression?" WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK!?

@Tombking2 the best mix does not require post processing like that.

I love how in Extreme metal genres they refer to them as "vocalists", not singers. Sounds more badass :)

@grassvalleystudios Its more because they aren't really singing ;)

Brilliant interview. Great questions with fast but informative answers. Loads of people in his spot would lie about things he's admitting to.
