Wow, I was at that airshow. My dad was chief ATC at woodbridge so I got to walk around with him and even got to meet the pilots of the thunderbirds. that was a great day for me. I have fond memories of the four years we were in England.
Jerryjome contrary to popular I still think we were better under the cold war at least everyone knew where they stood and no one dare screw with us thats why we miss you all.
Wow, this was like one month after I PCS'ed (with a couple of month's leave) to Tyndall...
Nowhere was as great as RAF BW...at least I got to experience the feeling of a "homecoming" there when I returned from Saudi in May of '91...man, I wish I John Major had never preferred Lakenheath over BW...I wish I were still there....
I'm going to the Museum Open Day at Bentwaters tomorrow. It will not be the same as this video thats for sure! We miss you Yanks so much...Come back to Bentwaters!!!

THOSE DUMB BRITS WANTED US OUT AND THEY'VE MISSED US EVER SINCE!THE SMART ONES EITHER MARRIED AMERICANS OR MOVED WHEN WE LEFT...THOSE A-10s BRING BACK ALOT OF FOND MEMORIES, ESPECIALLY OF THE TDYs
Those "dumb brits", who wanted us out were a very small minority, but very vocal. I've been to many British Legion clubs in the UK, and to hear the old timers talk so affectionally about us Yanks brought a tear to my eyes many times. Those 'dumb brits" are like the "dumb yanks" who want us unconditionally out of Iraq, I quess they don't mind al Qaida blowing up car bombs in Main St, USA !
