  • Random question, but when is her birthday? LOL

  • What a sweet person Carol Buschmann is! So glad to see the video. I was 14 when this song was released.

  • My God!

1947 she said the group started. I just want to know how old she is.

  • you suk as an interviewer, keep ur day job!!

  • @Freakificationism Lol stupid kid.

  • I want to thank you for putting this up. The Chordettes were just a little before my time as I got into R&R in the 60's but I am very familiar with their songs and beautiful harmonies. I really enjoyed listening to Ms. Buschmann and learning some more about the group. It's interviews like this that make these people come alive and not just some publicity recording or wikipedia entry. I admit, I found your interviewing a little irritating but then I realized this is real and so are you. Thanks!

  • your talking to someone from one of the first famed female singing groups. I would have been a little more blown away, and I'm sure many people there didn't know who she was.

  • oh my gosh you are so stupid I'm 11and I know who most all of these kinds of groups are. And you're like having no idea about anything in this...

  • who says very cool to a graceful woman her age. should have talked to her more professionally.

  • THIS IS ABSOLOUTLY WONDERFUL!!

I'm wondering which girl she was??

  • STOP SAYING "OKAY" ALL THE TIME DAMMIT!!!!!

  • The Chordettes were very big and very good. Very interesting to see her.

Thanks. I would have been interested in a musical question or two, such as which harmony part did she sing, etc.

  • lol she gets pissed cause he accidentally called it a band?

Ha, I would have been like..."My badddd, bieeeetch."

  • She's thinking, "This clueless faggot interviewing me doesn't give a rat's ass about The Chordettes, and I sure wish he'd stop referring to us as 'you guys.'"

  • R.i.p. Carol

  • THANK YOU FOR INTERVIEWIN HER

  • OMG SHE IS SO AWSOME WOOOOH

  • yes they are big here in The Netherlands :D play there songs all the time

  • Nice music, for nice people!

  • Thank you for posting this, it was really interesting!!

  • this wedding was her son wedding. i know because her and i were talking on the phone for about half an hour today. She is sooooo sweet :)

  • She's still so pretty, and so sharp. Hope that she knows how many folks still love "Mr. Sandman," "Lollipop," and numerous other Chordettes' hits. Cheers!

  • She is my neighbor!! Such a nice lady:)

  • @becalynn88 i hope you remind her how many fans she still has. im 13. :)

  • Rather a scruffy wedding, isn't it?

  • Lol, I am from the Netherlands and I love her music.. Nice vid!!

  • Have you ever heard of putting the microphone up to the speaker's mouth so the rest of us can hear?

  • i'd recommend knowing who you're actually interviewing next time. Thankfully Carol is a sweet lady and doesn't mind his ignorance.

  • She's absolutely adorable!

  • The interview itself wasn't rude, I think you asked some good questions, but your voice does sound a bit like you weren't interested. I am impressed, though, by how calm you stayed, because I would have been freaking out! She's such an awesome lady, and The Chordettes were amazing (still are).

  • U didn't even know how to pronounce her surname.

  • I didn't find the interviewer rude at all. I thought he was very polite. I'm 59 years of age. I found him very polite and mature and he asked good questions.

  • I like this interviewer. A serious interviewer. When he asked about the the group, she said," we started as a barbershop quartet 1947 and other questions and he received some very good information." Attention: RockTheHouse4, you are a very smart, good, and polite, interviewer.

  • Ha, I love the distinction this wonderful old lady makes when asked when she started in the "band." "It's NOT a band, it's a singing group." Lol. Today nobody would even make that distinction because nobody knows what music is. They call people "artists" or "entertainers" instead of musicians now that lip synching is ubiquitous. *sigh*

  • i wish i asked her shit i would ask her how badass it was to be young in the 50s

  • @ZombieConverse69 ikr ^w^

  • You did a fantastic job on the interview. I have no idea what the rest of the people say,

  • idiot^^

    the lady's cool though

  • idiot^^

  • Your so calm! If that was me , ib be jumping up and down! Omgg, such a nice women...

  • that was freaking delightful!

  • "Very cool, what else did you guys do?"

    "Oh, cool!" Aaarrrrrgh.

    Thanks for the clip anyway.

  • Great interview ! There were 7 different women in and out of the Chordettes and the unique thing about Carol Buschman is that she was with the group when it originated all the way to the early 1960s when the group disbanded. I am glad to see she is doing well--I think maybe Carol and Lynn Evans are the only two Chordettes still alive.

Great music and a fantastic group....thanks again for taking advantage of this opportunity to meet and hear from one of the original Chordettes !

    Alex

  • Wow - this is history!

  • @bacofishtaco i was messing up her name to prove her validity, you can say anyone is anyone on you tube, I could be vanilla ice for all you know!

  • i was messing up her name to prove her validity, you can say anyone is anyone on you tube, I could be vanilla ice for all you know!

  • im jealous!! ur sooo lucky

  • Thanks for posting. So great to se one of the original troopers. Nice interview.

  • I have the 78rpm record with that song on Great to see some of them still alive.

  • omg dude, it's a wedding, let the woman have a good time!!!

  • Thank you for the information. Hi from Spain

  • I wanted her to correct some facts about herself basically to verify who she is, I could interview any girl and she could say she is anyone famous.

  • Interviewer, you really come off as clueless. They were much bigger than you realize.

  • @TomBrooklyn i was messing up her name to prove her validity, you can say anyone is anyone on you tube, I could be vanilla ice for all you know!

  • just as pleasant and beautiful as she was back then, there should be more singing groups like them!! Kind of a rude interview though sorry.

  • Well done a nice little interview.Mister Sandman is a favourite of mine.

  • Comment removed

  • wow you're a horrible interviewer. get your facts straight before you ask her questions.

  • Carol is indicative of this quartet's grace and dignity. My father and I were privileged to sing with, and know very well, the original Tenor of the group, Jinny Cole (Janis) for about the last 20 years of her life. She past away a few years ago and is sorely missed by thousands of barbershoppers. Great post and a big "hello" to Carol and the rest of the Chordettes from your fans!

  • only carol buschmann and lynn something are the only 2 members alive from the chordettes. if u see the video picutre on related videos. the 2nd person is carol buschmann and the last one to the right is lynn something. both are the ones who are still in earth and here to this day to talk about and enjoy life.

i love Mr sandman! is the best!

  • best song ever! cute girls

  • Clayton, you got to touch a piece of history. I was in grade school and high school when they were recording. Everyone loved their music. The more you learn about the Chordettes and the music of that era the more you'll appreciate how fortunate you were to talk to Carol.

  • OH MY GOSH youre so lucky. Im a teenger and would LOVE to meet her

  • she kinda looks like my grandma!

    my grandma is from germany.

they have the same hair style

  • Great to see some one so down to earth. and I loved their songs!

  • This is awesome man...That's so cool you got the chance to meet one of the Chordettes XD

  • If youre wondering she is the one in the lollipop song in the related videos shes the third one in the row. Short Black Hair.

  • Dude...next time you interview a person, like this woman, sound interested and not so bored. Also, make sure we can hear the person who is being interviewed a little louder than you.

  • I wonder if she has seen the new Dell commericial.

  • me too :D

  • she's so nice, you shoulda asked her to sing a bit

  • Tell Carol to acknowledge Ronald & Ruby who originally wrote & sung the song. Unfortunately, once folks found out they were an interracial group, they were pushed out of the market.

  • lucky bastard lol :)

  • Holy hell, I live in Wisconsin! I had no idea that the Chordettes were from here. D:

  • OMFG LUKY D:<

  • What a lovely lady, and I agree - considering her age she looks fantastic!

  • Wow! Why are Mid-Westerners always the nicest people? I'm usually not the envious type, but I want to see a Chordette at a wedding!! I would want to talk to her for hours. Does anyone know which one she is, perhaps in the picture on the "Born to be with you" album? Thanks.

  • Wow, thats awesome...I mean...she is old...but....she is still a star :-) WOWI...and she looks great! I love the Chordettes....best wishes from germany :-)

  • Wow, how old is she? She seems very healthy and energenic! Love the songs!

  • Nice video!

  • It's great to see that she is doing well.

She is focused and healty, that is good.

  • Awesome. :)

  • That is way cool! I love the chordettes!!!

  • so cool:D

  • omg this is amazing

im singing mr. sandman with 3 other people for a school project

that would've been awesome to meet carol

    :-)

  • Wow, she's like a living fossil. I mean that in a good way. It's amazing that you got to casually chat it up with her.

  • I remember the Chordettes when I was young in the 1950's. They were great singers, happy days, God bless them from me in the UK.

  • That's so AWESOME! I wish I could meet someone from and old group like that.

  • What a LOVELY person she is! OMG!! so nice...

  • I agree and add; Still beautiful means always beautiful.

They make fine sausage in Sheboygan Wisconsin.

  • thats awesome! i knew you had a big family just not this big!

  • I just want you to know that this video is awesome and its unfortunate that it'll never be as popular as it should be. You did a great interview!!! And those who really know what good music actually is, will appreciate this video so much.

thank you for this.. It was really informative and great!

  • Thanks a lot!

  • That's so cool, I love the chordettes!!
