IMO, Megatron deserved the beating and crippling he took from Prime. He had to cheat to go toe to toe with Prime, and Im sorry, but any leader who voluntarily picks, and freely keeps, a second in command who made no secret of his desire to overthrow him and take his place deserves every betrayl and kick in the gut he got. Bottom line, Megatron's ruthlessness was no match for Prime's altruism.

Boy Starscream is a bastard , he kicked his own leader , but atleast Megatron killed Starscream as soon as he was rebuild as Galvatron , funny really , When Starscream came into Beast Wars - Transformers in Possessions he could have found his Megatron and distroyed him so his self in 1984 could discover that his Megatron is destroyed and therefore become leader of the Decepticons for good ! .

This is probably one of the only animated motion pictures to ever make children cry. Prime was the Ultimate Icon and Hero that kids looked up to in the 80's.

Then why on earth were the autobots constantly against the ropes despite having more resources and bases (Cybertron, Earth etc) and Rod always relying on the matrix to save his ass. He always doubted himself as leader and really ran the organisation into the ground and so what happened, They had to dig up prime to save his ass.
