these cartoons are timeless....my 3 year old niece spent two weeks with me and the only way I got ther to sit down was to put on these old school cartoons for her
I really like these old cartoons. I am 21 but I get such a thrill from them. They are clean and have a great humor to them. They don't tear anyone down and they aren't seductive. I search Youtube when I need to lighten my mood and it seems like These old cartoons do it best. I wish there were more like them today on tv.
Donald's temper really seems to vary a lot in 1938. In Donald's nephews he had remarkably good temper. In some other cartoons of the same year (including others with the nephews) his temper was far worse.
Maybe Disney was testing the water as it were to see what variant of Donald people enjoyed most.
I loved Donald Duck cartoons when I was a kid. Donald and I have such similar personalities. We have zero coping skills and flip the hell out about every little thing. The woodpecker represents a large portion of society. They selfishly take and push people around for their own gain. Your lemonade? Why would I ever care, it's my bathtub now. They don't realize that they're pushing people past our flimsy breaking points. It makes life interesting when the two worlds collide. Great cartoon!
Donald Duck is a perfect example of someone who tries his best to live life in the best way he can. And often it's to no avail because everything seems to conspire against him. For this, I don't blame him for his fiery temper. The poor guy's got issues.
His birthday is listed on wikipedia as being March 13th commonly known as friday the 13TH and that is a universal day of bad luck, not that i belive in supersitions but Walt Disney did and made it Donalds b-day on purpose to explain his constant bad luck.
Despite this though Donald is happy go lucky and a friendly fun loving guy, its just when he has his fun that life backfires on him and responds with his temper tantrums.

That host sounds stoned.
And before you add any "corrections", yes they had pot in the '30s. Louis Armstrong called it "muggles".

@andyjay729 Hemp's old as the hills, mate. Anyone who thinks it's from the 60s ain't read their history books.
And I agree - a few too many happy pills in his daily routine.

To riddick7819: Very good point, especially when his theme song emphasizes all the bad luck he has.

This is dedicated to my late father. He had such a strong temper that I used to call him Donald Duck! May he rest in peace now. kkkkkkkkkk
