If you think about the title of the piece, Dance Movements, it kind of shows in itself that there doesn't need to be a specific melodic line throughout the entire piece. When you see a dance, rarely will you see the same moves or steps performed multiple times, just like this piece. I like it and I think the title is true to the music
This is a great live performance of one of the more challenging works in the repertoire. Clearly a well rehearsed ensemble with a unified, continuous musical thought. Rare, considering wind ensembles/concert bands are generally in the realms of the 'amateur' and consequently 'rape' pieces of this calibre. Thoroughly enjoyable! Full marks!
I enjoyed the band's performance.The thing that I didn't like was ,I only got to see the director and a few players.I loved it.It's not the best that I've heard but it's a super good band and they made beautiful music for me.IT has lots of melodies and themes .Philip did a wonderful job in it's construction from the first movt. to the last.
Excellent performance, but OH - What a useless piece. I found this cos I'm playing it with a concert band, but there's nothing worthwhile in the music. This would be one of the least memorable time-wasters I ever had to play. No melody - nothing musical in it for me.
