If he was in your church and you were the Pastor then deal with your house. God used murders to carry the message you think he was worried about a earring. As you read the old testament you find that the men wore earing to show that they were bond to salavery. We have to do our research people. Since we have Jesus that died for us we are free from the slavery of sin. I have to agree that no preacher should be preaching with a earing in his ear. It's not a negative commit but as preachers we should know how to present ourself. I know that he is a young preacher and hopefully he will learn.
