wierd, i have done nothing but olympic weightlifting for 7 months (change of sport) and my vertical has improved 4 inches, but i am blessed with world class coaching
well an increase in overall body strength specificly in the legs) plus an increase in the bodys ablity to use the fast twitch muscle fibers. so ya im stumped on how your jump couldnot have improved as long as you train smart
Probably because you have a good amount of strength and not very good speed. Try lifting more explosively and work some plyometric drills for speed and see if it improves.
Peter has a wicked early arm bend. It starts below the knee. Almost like he's trying to muscle the weight up to his shoulders. Hell of a strong guy to be able to do that with 199 kg.
Wow impressive lift. I really liked the technique of the first guy on the jerk, he went very low and had a very wide grip. Doing things differently is great.
Ok the squat catch allows you to catch more weight because lets say you can only power clean 200lbs to the jerk position but you can pull 225lbs to the middle of your body and drop under it then it allows you to squat that weight to jerk postion the "suit" is a singlet it doesn't really help in anyway i find it more traditional looking anyway
Dima weighed 96kg that day. He did not train for 5 months and he still did that poundage. By the way he's world was world champ in 2005 and 3rd last worlds.
Nice video. I think I've seen it on some other website (or maybe a Russian message board) floating around the net. It also had other videos of Klokov.
I forgot to ask previously, have you competed in 2006 US Nationals?
I can't even get 200lbs :(

200 kg clean and jerk for 105 kg class is pretty weak, im guessing hes a B lifter?
