  • Strepitosa!

  • OMG! It's a totally different version from the Met this season. I prefer the met production and orchestra. Seems like ND is forcing a bit on this one, and is it just me or she seems sometimes to be forgetting to breathe?

But I listen non stop to her (more dramatic) rendition of the role at the met this season. I think my neighbors must hate Ms Dessay or Lucia altogether by now. LOOOL

  • @minkoss hahaha, same for me! Dessay in Lucia is just too mad!! Do you like the mariinsky recording? Well, too bad for our neighbours! ;)

  • @minkoss I like both. This is the first time I have seen/listened to this one and it is a bit more carefree and cheerful than the "more dramatic" Met version. I also think she is just better in that one. Could my heroine, Natalie, be improving with age? I do, however, like parts of the Lucie version from, I think 2002, with Terzier. Possibly because it IS in French and Natalie has traces of that.

  • @MrHbc3 The french version of lucia is actually really good because the score is actually really beautiful, there's less thrills and effects than the italian one (some characters actually disappear arias are slightly different) and yes dessay being french it might help. Although I think she's too good for that to make a difference. I am a huge fan of the french version because it's yes "more dramatic". I love big dramatic soprano voices and aria (Tosca is my favorite opera).

  • @MrHbc3 In the french version in some arias, (especially the mad scene) Nathalie voice sounds, to me, bigger than her coloratura usual register.

  • regia Graham Vik??

  • WOW! I LOVE the direction of this scene...Dessay is really able to express the music through her acting and it works so well. I always thought of Lucia as an odd girl no one took seriously at the beginning...her madness doesn't just erupt out of nowhere...it works! And her voice is at her prime here I think: the high register shows no sign of strain! Amazing...

  • Superb performance. Tears at such beauty. Brava Natalie!!!

  • fabulous and naive!

  • Very good. She is a very good singer. thanks

  • THEY FILMED IT? THANK YOUUUUUUUu
