  • what kind of degree did you get? I can't make out what you're saying

  • Ha, a liberal arts degree. This is an old video. my vids are a bit better these days.

  • Awesome! And there's nothing wrong with a degree in liberal arts, you could always teach, but im not sure if you'd want to. Im a history major hopefully graduating in dec from UT. Anyway i took my MSF course about 4 months ago but i have no cash for a bike yet.... i should have waited. Nice Yamaha!! put some sliders and that baby in case it is dropped again, you can prevent any damage to the body.

  • Yeah, sliders are gonna be my next purchase without a doubt.

  • I would wait for Yamaha to release a 250 sportbike if i were you..

  • damn America is cheap, little over 3K? here in Belgium it's €4.499 and I'm guessing thats about $5.500 - $6.000 ... pffff

  • this bike costs in austria, vienna € 4899,-^^

  • Hey does the Ninja 250r have a fuel reserve tank?

  • no it does not

  • and it isn't even a "reserve tank". When you switch to reserve you are actually sucking from a lower area of your gas tank giving you time to react to low fuel.

  • wat was the total u paid for itt

  • what is your opinion on the Green ninja 250r? because i will be getting one in a few months.

  • the color of the bike makes no difference.

  • go with the 750 for your next one...trust me, it'll be worth it...

  • man hes talkin shite , edit this clip to the bike info geeez

  • ok - but my question (about the power) is like - I live in Los Angeles - hour and half drive from my hometown which I visit frequently. The highway (i5) is full of huge climbs and people are doing 80 easily the whole way. Can the 250 handle that kind of commute (probably opening the throttle on 6th the for a roughly an hour). But yeah, mainly - - - can this thing climb without problems?

  • check out my newest video, I look at a bike which might be more of what you are looking for.

  • i hate it when people say that the 250ninja has low power. they say that because they are comparing it to a 1000cc bike.... come on yall, the ninja 250 is faster than like 85% of the cars on the rode.

I rode one for a year and it was a perfect beginner bike.

Go with the 250 ninja man!

  • it does have low power. doesnt mean its not a good bike none the less. but still yet. its 250 cc. and thats a statement compared even to a 600cc bike.

ride it next to a zx6r. then say its high powered?

  • he just clearly said its not low powered compaired to a car, not a bike..

  • i dont know why but i believe the 250 needs training wheels because little kids can ride it and not have any get up and go. whoever gets this bike ends up upgrading within 6 months anyway...

  • the newer ninja 250's look real good.....believe me any bike u get ur gonna love..

  • lol its funny in almost every walk around so far i keep hearing some ladies laughing in the background...

  • yeah, ha, its the same ladies I mentioned in the can am spyder video. aparently working as a secretary in a bike shop is a fun job. or maybe the exhaust fumes are getting to them.

  • lol id say

  • i think what you're doing is so great! I am pretty much in the same situation. I have been wanting to get a motorcycle for almost a year now. Just recently i started doing all the same research you have been doing. your videos reassure me that i'm headed in the right direction =) Im planning on taking the MSF course in march after my 21st bday. The bad thing about being 21 is that insurance will be exp. I also plan on getting the 09 250R. Then if i get tired i'll upgrade at the end of the summer

  • Glad I could help, I will be posting a MSF video in three weeks. Until then I can't do crap. good luck tho.

  • Steelhorse,

First I gotta say I got about 30 seconds into your vid before I busted out laughin..for I too..have a degree in liberal arts..small world eh? I personally think the 250 is a great beginner bike for numerous reasons..one, it's awesome to start on because of low weight, seat height and power..and second..when you do grow out of it, (which you will in say, 9 months) they really hold resale value compared to other Japanese bikes..and yeah, I had one back in the day..

    Billy

  • when i got my ninja250R 09 i went to the dealership like 2hrs away from my place. that far just to get one. every dealership in my place is sold out. thats how ninja250R are so good hard to find & hard to get... i like my ninja 250R im glad i bought it. i know its not that big... but its very dependable & saves you a lot & the gas mileage sweeetttttt.... you know you can still hit that speed. hey guys take it easy have a safe ride....

  • was that the only one they had in the dealership? was it sold already or no?

How hard is it to find unsold 250s at the dealerships these days? (compared to when the 08s came out)

  • All the ninja dealers I went to always had at least one in stock. But I have heard that tipically it is very hard to find bikes under 500ccs, and if they are used it is really hard.

  • The clutch lever will feel better once you break it in...

  • big difference between the ZX-6R and the ninja 650..

the 650 would be much easier to handle, less powerful and edgy. V-twin vs 4 in-a-row.

  • I actually did a video on the ninja zx6-r, but yeah the 650 is a great bike.

  • I posted comments but they didn't work. Being in your shoes (new to riding) I'd go with the 600 or 750, I started on a 600 and I love it, I'm not sick of it at all I just want a newer bike (mine's a 1996 lol) But, I only paid 1750 for it!...Shop around, look local maybe you can get a better deal, in NY now is the time to buy because of winter people are selling like crazy. Good luck and make sure you got some gear! (DS83 told me to check u out, nice site man)

  • It's up to you, good luck but being in your shoes I would say without a doubt, 600 or 750 is the way to go.

  • Hey man, here because of downshift83's reccomendation. I'm a new rider too, I was looking at a lot of different bikes but I settled on a used suzuki bandit 600S...I would definately go with a 600 or a 750 for a new bike. I personally like the 600's because you can ride them anywhere (highways, freeways, roads, etc) they're not too heavy but they got the juice if you need it. I wouldn't go with a 250 because like DS83 said you'll soon want to upgrade.

  • congratulations on the graduation-A good bike to start out with... but as said earlier, you'll wanna upgrade after a few months.

  • thanks, I think it is pretty unanimous that starting out on a more powerful bike is a better idea.

  • Gratz on graduation man The 250 looks nice and its a great bike to start out on, but it takes to long to hit the high speeds. I can only afford to buy one bike though :(, so I am going with a 750. But like shocks says, if you can afford to, start out on a 250.

  • thanks, yeah I am poor, so I am probably going to start with a bigger bike also.
