  • Is it worth buying a VL Turbo manual just for fun and as a first project car to work on while or or after your P's?

Anyones opinion or advice is greatly appreciated :)

  • @mydogzty for the amount of money...no, but for the fun yes.

  • @mydogzty if your off your p's i sugest getting a step up from the vl such as supra skylines all that stuff but the bad reason about buying scond hand vl's that are turbo manual is that they would of been so mucked around with unless its factory vl's are more of a p plater car but hey if you want a good project get a stock vl then manual conversion it yourself and turbo it (its fun) :D look for somin less that 150,000 k's

  • @eligh54321 Supra's and skylines are like the last car I would touch in my life. Because they are Horsepower whores, and yea the best out of the japanese cars i reckon. Anyway......I would go for a nice silvia s13 or 180sx as a first street car to work on when off my P's. Dont want a subaru because they're too common. If i had to say a everyday car for a project car I'd save up for a silvia s15, simply because they look the best and should find them under the 20K when I turn 21. 16 now.

  • @eligh54321 Vl's are on my mind ecause they'll be cheap to buy (not that im a tightass or anything) and they're old, so should be easy to work on. And it'll hold a fair bit of mates, put some rims, some kind of sound system, everyone has one, tint windows maybe and possibly lower it a little bit but not to the extreme some some idiots. And yea of course a turbo for that stututuutut sound everyone likes. Just my idea for a VL's use to me. But yea probs better spending moeny on a better car.

  • @mydogzty the good things with vl's are because of the jap engine there are doue the parts and some even still get made by nissan i dont know call me crazy but somting about vl's i just have a conection to man there just mad when you see that beautifally simple rb30 sitting under that strong hood all for a cheap price might i say those rb30's are quite good on fuel compared to the other commies ( older ones )

  • @eligh54321 In the end, pick what you like true? and if they are cheap on fuel...then yea thats a good plus. If i dont pick a vl, i'll save up for a nice daily driveable street car. Such as a silvia s13, nissan 180sx, or a silvia s15. Just a nice car that looks good and drives smooth with a bit of power thats there if i need to use it.

Reason why i'd want a vl is cheap, and they are old so probaly a great choice to learn my way around cars, might be rebuilding most of it anyway...
