I was never a fan of this game. It looks nice but it doesn't give you any chance to avoid the enemies other than sheer luck. Nice scrolling effect though.
@SPINNYFUCK were you never tempted to give it a go in an arcade ? that cool big cabinet ?, i remember being really impressed with the sprite scaling thing in this, afterburner and powerdrift.
I think even on the speccy you get a wee bit of the "arcade" feeling.
I didn't play many arcade games in the 80's. Only remember playing Outrun, Hypersports and Hunchback. Most of my arcade experience was from the 70's when I was on holiday. Once I got my speccy it was all free to play as many times as you wanted.
True, but like with many of these arcade games, the Speccy version was a heap of shit in comparison. Nothing came close to the huge expensive 1980's Sega hydraulic cabinets.. Outrun, Hang On, Power Drift, Afterburner, etc.. even to this day there's nothing like them.
Okay. 15p a go. 50% extra on the profits. During the recession it's going to be a winner. Keep it cheap but take that little bit extra. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I prefer my speccy tbh. It's not a coin guzzling piece of impossibilty and gave me more enjoyment than a 20 secs waste of money on an arcade machine.
