If I were a believer like you, I would perceive both comments to acknowledging that such was the act of your god and thus his own will to decide the fate.

Thank God for His hand of protection so that no one was injured in spite of the massive collapse. The incident happened at about 8.30am after the 8am service had already started and most were safe in the sanctuary, before the crowd started streaming in for 9.30am Sunday school and 10.45am service. Thank God for safety.
