  • when I teach conversational English, i normally generate the conversation from a short text, where I also generate vocabulary. Through the question and answer in unlocking vocabulary difficulty can conversations also happen. Another piece of advice is to associate the chosen text to the students' cultural or personal knowledge! This ensures maximum participation which is what we truly aim for!

  • Hi Mike. I'm not a teacher, I'm only an English native speaker. I'm helping Vietnamese children on the Internet with English. At first I taught them the alphabet & how to pronounce each letter. I also tell them it's important to say the end of a word. I play Basic English conversation to them over speakers, then I play a part and they play a part. Like Hello my name is, I am 10 years old etc etc. Will this help the children in any way? Thank you for your videos.

  • @scotsguy77 Please do not be inapropriate with these children.

  • @hoghash78 The room rules are that they must have an adult parent with them at all times. Do you have a parent with them when you teach them.

  • @scotsguy77 I wasn´t accusing you of being "inappropriate". I think you can relax. Unless you have a guilty mind, I´m sorry again that I was "inappropriate". Best regards.

  • @hoghash78 I'm sorry as well. Best regards.

  • @hoghash78 I think you will find the spelling is inaPPropriate.

  • This is more about "what to teach" not "how to teach"...a bit misleading!!!!

  • thats what is called Authentic teaching . to put the learners in a realstic situation and choose topics interest them to let them talk and interact . talking about personal information is a good choice !!

  • Good teaching

  • Good points!

  • for one...you never write in just capital letters on the board.

Also this is for basic conversational lesson for the beginner...certainly not if your teaching at intermediate and advance.

    thisis ok advice but outdated

  • @JeremyScottThompson well if you look at the title, it actually says basic english conversation,so what's your point??? it's not outdated and i always start my conversations with beginners with these topics. If you wish to find info on how to teach intermediate or advance you should search somewhere else. And also why he can't write in capitals?? Didn't get that one either. Quite poor judgment. At least he has done smth to help others. What have you done to help?

  • @renski333 Firstly i must admit to not paying attention to the basic level int he title...secondly he doesnt explain anything, he just suggests topics...The main issue is are you teaching in a school, one on one, adults...because it'll vary...one-on-one the student can suggest the topic, in a classroom it will be textbook based...also writing all in capital is a very bad habit - i just hopes he doesnt write like that when he teaches cos the student wont learn to recognise words correctly

  • Why is he wearing somebody else's clothes?

  • who the hell asks the question..."where do you come from"??? Who is this hack?

  • thumbs up...i appreciate the effort u've done('',)

  • @contoricber great effort by the teacher, i googled fet system and found some good english resources over there too

  • thnak you for the video

  • I found some good teaching material.

Google "Ferd'nand". These are comics without words. First I have he students describe what's happening and practice structures such as the subjunctive. Then I have them role play the situation. The result has been very good.

  • great thanks, I'm from Poland and I know english for 9 years already (I'm 13), I'm bad at teaching someone, but I think this will be great tutorial, on how to teach my best friend english :)

  • Thanks!

  • There is many English lessons on youtube. But your lessons are ones of the best because your prononciation is clear and you speak slowly, what is very important for a beginner.

    Thank you !

  • thank u very much ,

  • You talk very fluently, clearly for me to listen and understand.I hope you can make more videos because it's very useful. Thanks

  • Basically what you said is what is written on any english book.

Nice Video. However, I was expecting something like basic roleplays, conversation pairwork..

Things to do in a class.

  • Your writing is too small for anybody to read. I hope you write in larger letters during your class.
