  • Does anyone have the " drums only" version of Good Times Bad Times? I'd love to hear that.

  • Comment removed

  • Apparently Hendrix saw Bonzo play and was amazed with how he kept time with the Right Foot.

  • At 2:15 he looks exactly like mikael akerfeldt from opeth

  • @CarcassOfBodom haha. definitely

  • A very cool collection of pics. Bonzo had a magical combination of power and finesse that is unmatched in my opinion ... I think it had something to do with his wrists. It's too bad that his substance abuse issues took him from us so early; I miss him. -_-,

  • Bonzo was magic on the drums.

  • Is this an outtake, or is the actual drum track to "Fool"? The man was awesome.

  • Timeless. Bonzo forever!

  • Doesn't Matter; John Bonham

  • May we please hear the rest of that if you have it? Why did you stop at 4:08

  • i know why this is an outtake i have 300$ headphones and there is a conversation in the background I've been trying to play this for five days almost got it bonham's my Favorite drummer pearts a close second

  • @tbhsul so can you hear what they are saying with those 300 dollar headphones?

  • His "two" (0:18) couldn't sound more cool.

  • fucking masterpiece!

  • When you cut it at 4:08, you only missed the greatest rhythm transition in the history of rock and roll. Did you really not know that the next 10 seconds contain godly drum work?????

  • @Bogie6588 where can the rest be found ? tx

  • HAMMER OF THE GODS DRUMMING!...There will never be another drummer like him. RIP John,

  • Great for a carpenter, right?

  • Doesnt even need the rest of the band this is fucking awesome sauce!

  • This guy goes through schools...

  • I love the monster sounding bass. classic purdie/bonham shuffle.

  • Where is the rest of the Song?

  • Jesus was a carpenter before he became what he became. I don't believe it was a coincidence that Bonham was too!

  • @LiveOnJohn40 I heard Jesus is pretty awesome, but he's no John Bonham ;)

  • Focking hell! wat the hell is going on?

  • Jeff Porcaro(Toto) said this was a huge influence on his epic half-time shuffle. I could listen to this for a long time. Greatest heavy rock groove drummer ever!!

  • deepest pocket of all time...

  • best drummer ever!!

  • How the hell did you get you hands on this?????????

  • Why do people say he was the best R&R drummer of all time? Because they know!

  • thumbs up if you just had to listen to Fool in the Rain after this!

  • @ckupc You got me

  • at 1:37, and 1:52, is he mixing single handed rolls with press rolls?

  • This is AMAZING! How did you get your hands on this drum track?

  • This kid say beber better than bonham u r just a kid u dont know nothing this man was in the best rockin roll band in history

  • special half time shuffle groove....bonham is legend!

  • bonham keeps time like a fucking rolex

  • @theyoungupstart Lmao where did you get that saying from? That's very clever.

  • @theyoungupstart actually...my Dad's Rolex never kept great time...Bonham on the other hand...(get it...on the other hand...see what I just did there?...never mind.

  • aww dont say that!!!

  • them drums needed a smoke when bonzo was done

  • @gavrilo2007 youve couldve said "Travis Barker" and it wouldve been equally as funny :)

  • @gavrilo2007 You are kidding, right?

  • @stevethrasher

    He's being sarcastic, bro.

  • That, as Rainer Wolfcastle would say, is the joke.

  • @stevethrasher the world goes wrong...

  • @stevethrasher its called sarcasm

  • @stevethrasher some people are just idiots! come on man how can you even think about putting bieber ahead of bohnam.

  • @stevethrasher there's no way he's kidding.

  • @stevethrasher

jeeez, where's your sense of humor people?!

  • @gavrilo2007

    lol, fuck yeh

  • @gavrilo2007 seriously...how DARE you!!

  • @gavrilo2007 LMFAO!!! Somebody has no idea about drummers.

  • Comment removed

  • @gavrilo2007 <== SMOKES A LOT OF CRACK. bonham invented some of the best rock grooves that have been used by countless FAMOUS drummers. how many rock stars have been influenced by bieber ... or will be for that matter? say this in the setting of a real Zep Fan face to face and see what happens. Internet wuss

  • @gavrilo2007 I know that was joke, but now I have to hit something.

  • @gavrilo2007 I could go on how JB is a homosexual BUT that is neither here nor there due to your comment sir or ma'am you have made several people upset with you. very unwise i mean i'm 16 so this is not from my generation and i know better that disrespecting bonham on a site displaying one of his master peaces. so for you i have taken it upon myself to plead insanity for you and in order to change such a troubled mind i will suggest (Bonzo's Montruex) or (in my time of dying) personal favorites

  • @gavrilo2007 he better fucking be.

  • @gavrilo2007 hahahahaha. goode one!! you are joking, aren't you?

  • @gavrilo2007 Hahaha, that was a funny one! NOT!!

  • @gavrilo2007 Can't tell if trolling, or just needs to be shot

  • @gavrilo2007 Drugs are bad,mmmhkay?

  • @gavrilo2007 how much did bieber gave u?? 55.000.000$ or more to say that?

  • @gavrilo2007 hahahaha that was a great april fool's joke

  • @gavrilo2007 Did you steal Ozzy Osbourne's stash of acid? I think you did.

  • @gavrilo2007 lol I thought this was pretty funny.

  • Comment removed

  • @gavrilo2007 congrats, you provoked 18 people with heads up their asses to reply to your moronic troll. Ya aint gettin away that easy though. In return you have to suffer with reading 18 of the gayest, most overused comebacks.

  • Anyone know where this recording comes from? I'd love a high quality version of it

  • Awesome!! ....John Henry Bonham!!!

  • John was a great drummer. no question. this was very late in his career also. pretty imaginative. Check out Bernard Purdie purdie shuffle pt.2 to see some more AWESOME drumming

  • The groove is named the Bonham Shuffle....say what you will

  • @chrishickie Bernard Purdie did it first. Check out his stuff. You'll love it. He's 72 now, but still as good as ever!

  • Well, it has to be pretty damn sweet..Jeff Porcaro admittedly used it for "Rosanna"..

  • Comment removed

  • Exactly. I play the songs on my iPad and play along with jimmy page it's awesome

  • Absolutely man as long as there Zeppelin fans who fans doors fans etc rock and roll will never die

  • I agree with you MR Easternoutdoors. and its good to see the Justin Bieber is a fake just like all the one hit wonder rappers. haha. Id like to see them free form blues on stage. Oh thats rite they rely on samples, I bet they dont even know who john bonham is. Keep Rockn' dude

  • One of the best videos on YouTube right here. Coolest sounding beat. My dad plays the drums and I play guitar and we just jam Zeppelin for hours and hours also a ton of Neil young and Hendrix. I am 15 and absolutely love this music and can't stand rap and Justin bieber bs.....LONG LIVE ROCK AND ROLL!!!!

  • @TheEasternoutdoors Bonzo is the BEST to play to. just beautiful.

  • 31 years gone very sad

  • without this we'd have no steve drozd playing that epic beat in the gash

  • John Bonham was the best drummer in history.

  • you know he didnt write this. Originally called a purdie shuffle cuz mr. purdie wrote it. Id have to say bonham perfected it. since the ghost notes originally were played with two fingers while in cross stick position. A lot of soul in this piece. Of course when the time hits 3 mins here you can hear some of the greatness created by bonham. There just isnt music to meet these standards of playing anymore. Couldnt fit that lick in any song these days :(. Good playing is a thing of the past now.

  • My personal drum hero. You went to soon. ):

  • This is why Bonham is so revered. The ghost notes on the snare, the off-time accents on the hi-hat, the terse, perfect little fills, and the whole thing played with that behind-the-beat Bonham feel that gives it a subtle funk vibe. Bonham was not a technical monster but he had an undeniable genius for writing memorable and perfect drum parts for LZ's songs. He had a very deep understanding of rhythm and pulse. Can you imagine being a bass player and having Bonham for your drummer? Heaven!

  • Greatest drummer ever!!!!! Is there any FUCKING DOUBT?

  • hes so smashed...

  • FUCKING HELL

WHAT THE BLOODY HELL IS GOING ON?!!

    best intro ever...

  • magic..

  • coolest drummer = coolest shuffle ever? i love math.

  • Just a sick understanding of rhythm. How would anyone THINK of playing this as a backdrop for a song? Separate question from the difficulty of actually doing it which I;m sure is a serious issue.

  • @kenjames, It is magic!

  • I love this out take! r.i.p bonham much love

  • you learn from this. a lot

  • Love this have listened to it a thousand times... F****king 'ell!!! prefer this without the rest of the group playing

  • Wow man, how he sounded! Three mics, analog tape, no protools or whatever, just music and the hearty of this man. Love John.

  • Could be the best recording of the mighty Bongo ever!!!!

  • Great feel, wow!

  • Feel it, it's beautiful. Love your work Bonham, love it.

  • Check out Bernard Perdie and the perdie shuffle....he was the drummer on Home at Last by Steely dan.....I am not taking anything from the brilliant and wonderful John Bonhnam.....but check it out see what I mean.....watch?v=9t0VlzJeNvA

    Peace

  • I need a Ludwig 402 snare, the ability to tune it like Bonzo, the ability to PLAY it like Bonzo, and the ability to record it like Page. I think if I had all those things, I'd be set! lol!

  • i dont anything about bonham's bio, but i guarantee in his youth he was a jazz drummer.

  • Dam GOOD!!!!

  • genius! thanks so much for finding this and posting it!

man i would kill for that feel and sound

  • Beeast. Love this guy RIP.

  • 12 people like the rain....as long as it comes in the form of a golden shower.

  • /watch?v=gDutTT-zOJQ

  • that is hilarious hearing plant going,"what the hell's going on?",at the beginning.

  • Thumbs up if you wanted to hear the amazing fills that was to be unleashed by JB!!!!

  • 12 people can't feel their legs here...

  • is that robert plant i hear?

  • shuffle those cards

    deal cried the loser

  • I can listen to this all day, and l dont even play drums.

  • Focking genius is what he is

  • Bonham: 'Fucking hell!'

Lee Evans: 'Fuckin' hell's going on!?'

  • @Maxcoster That was definitely Plant and not Evans. xD

  • He even says "fucking hell" better than anybody ever has....I wonder what WAS going on? Must have been some crazy shit, listen to Plant he's beside himself.

  • What a drummer, this is amazing.

  • I obtained a copy of the entire "In Through the Out Door" drum outtakes. They are quite spectacular!

  • @bourland27 how do you get those? lol

  • I need a ludwig snare

  • @LedSandman

Supraphonic, LM402. they're epic as hell.

  • @LedSandman Well if the Ludwig's hadn't sold the company I could totally have helped hook you up.

  • WUN....TOOOOOOOOOOOWAAAAH....WUN...TOO...WUN, TOO, THWREE, FUUUR

  • i love robert plant in the background.."the 'ells goin on??"

  • @ethanbrochill That's Robert Plant? I thought that was a chick...

  • Buddy Rich.........John Bohnam.....perfect

  • @eyelivehere neil peart is better than rich

  • hey i thought john bonham died before this album

    didnt he?

  • @jennkim1 No, he did not. The album was recorded in 1978 and he died in 1980.

  • @jennkim1 yes... Led Zeppelin kinda broken up after his death in 1980. It was Jimmy Page that collaborated the next and last two albums of recordings.

  • @scarredman42 no mostly john paul jones collaberated everything he had less credit than he should have.

  • @scarredman42 I thought John Paul Jones produced the last couple albums because Jimmy Page was high on smack all the time. I read Jimmy Page barely functioned the last couple of years.

  • @jaco5187 No... Jimmy Page has the rights to anything Led Zeppelin. Jimmy Page was not just a guitarist either. If you really listen to When the Levee Breaks played by Led Zeppelin, what John Bonham was playing live was backwards and recorded & Jimmy Page turned it back from backwards. I mean if you really listen to the drums... Haunting yet Powerful.

  • LOVE IT!!

  • MAGIK STYX

  • that is some fooking great playing-makes it sound easy-it isn't-still my fav drummer of all time-rip

  • focking 'ell

  • Way cool. John found the beat between the beat. I can listen to him drum all day

  • Se fue muy pronto...aun estariamos disfrutando de su forma de tocar...Bonham...sigues siendo una gran inspiracion para todos nosotros...around the world.

  • search for "Led Zeppelin Moby Dick John Bonham Live Royal Albert Hall 1970 Pt.1" in minute 5:05 he beats the drums with his bare hands. AMAZING!!!!

  • @wuerp he did that in ramble on too

  • 'FAACCKin hell' hahahaha

  • It's all FEEL! To all morons that think there was a "producer" in there saying, "Hey John, can you accent that 3rd triplet of beat 1?"... sorry but you are completely clueless. And you do not feel music, either.

  • Bonham was Killer. You know what's funny, it sounds like he's bombed off his ass with all the carrying on before the take. But if anyone could play like that drunk,it would only be him. True greatness. The guy was a cannon.

  • He was one hell of a drummer. Why are the greats always dead? :'(

  • One the greatest drum grooves of all time

  • JB, still one of my favorite drummers, I remember the day he died. RIP.

  • Did John have 8 arms?

  • @dbmjrisin nope, that was keith moon lol...bonham was like a groove machine lol

  • @Snotra you should really consult a doctor

  • @Snotra we must continue negative comments to this guy and vote down his comment until it disappears

  • @Snotra ah, but your never got to see him live. I did,and he blew me away

  • @Snotra Your mum is over rated, she was shit.

  • @Snotra bad comment

  • @Snotra

  • @Snotra quite simply, you're an idiot

  • @Snotra quite simply, you're an idiot

  • lol robert at the beginning int he backround "what the hell is going on!?"

  • what a snare sound... nuff said

  • Is this the Purdie Shuffle? Or extremely close to it?

  • @bloomtoferal very close - and more importantly, perhaps, inspired by it...

  • @bloomtoferal its a variation of the purdy shuffle, jeff porcaro done it with rosanna, the thing is ,they made it look or sound as easy as putting the kettle on,the fuckers,lol..bonzo and porcaro are dead so they`re probably doing more complicated shuffles wherever they are now...

  • this guy eats chuck norris at breakfast

  • beautiful from the master.
