Ali and Meldrick Taylor are the most glaring examples I can think of, when it comes to brain damage from boxing. But, there are thousands of others. It is not a YES or NO thing. Getting hit in the head is going to kill brain cell. It just depends on how many are killed and what other damage happens to your brain.

Of course no one's gonna be charged with murder in a SANCTIONED FIGHT. But a real participant in a combat sport (wrestling, boxing, mixed martial arts, pick your poison) goes for the win. Fighters always say they're gonna mess their opponent when they get in that ring/cage/on the mat, but they mean they're gonna win. These sports are founded on brotherhood, and even if you don't like someone-you respect them as a fellow competitor. You, my friend, are a disgrace to the world of combat sports.

Where did I say that it was wrong to go for the knockout? The KO is the way to win, but to do so with an intention to LITERALLY kill someone is a douchebag's move and is under the same category as hitting after the bell. And if a professional were tried and charged with such an act in a court of law, prosecution would have to have evidence that shows without a doubt the fighter had the intention of committing a crime under the cover of a sanctioned match, which would be FIRST DEGREE MURDER.

It cant be in the same category as hitting after the bell if the fight hasn't stopped. Hitting after the bell is illegal. But to kill your opponent in the ring without cheating is perfectly legal. Once the fight starts and punches are thrown, whether consciously or not, both fighters are going to try to kill their opponent. Sure it's wrong but nobody thinks about that when the fight starts. Thinking of killing your opponent is simply being aware of what can happen. And it CAN go either way

And that is why MMA is better than Boxing... this happens to boxing a lot more often than a MMA fight. When a man is down and obviously not defending, the fight stops. if it was a real fight to the death, someone will get killed. In MMA the ref stops it.. in boxing, the ref gives him 8 seconds to recover just to get another pounding.

doctors are actually a lot better at mending bones then fixing ur brain. Assuming u have one. Broken bones heal.u cant heal ur brain after getting punched drunk. u wont find a MMA fighter with slurred speech. 1 MMA death sanctioned fight ever since MMA started, 15-20 years ago. search boxing deaths. MMA is better for entertainment. We are not here to watch someone die. Just to see who is the better fighter. Boxing is 25 percent of what true combat is. punch, kicks, grappling, and submission.

man. Boxing is a sport. And the fighters choose to get up. And they choose to get in the ring. They know theres a risk. But they love doing it, and we love watching it as boxing. Sometimes i like watching an MMA match with kicking and grappling, but boxing on its own is a hole different thing. Different technique and strategy. Dont look at is as a piece of MMA. Its boxing, its not MMA at all.

Boxer Oscar Diaz is awake from his two month coma, and breathing on his own. Diaz had been in critical condition, but has now been updated to stable. Diazs doctors and family feel he will only continue to improve.

Because the AP probably wasn't able to get the video of the event from the rights holder (TV station) or from another news feed source (CNN usually has every sports event). It's like that for pretty much every sporting event that they cover on YouTube unfortunately, broadcast companies have extremely strict rules about using footage from sporting events and there are very little rules/practices on the books for internet usage.

Also, it's a 1000 words not a 100 words :-p
