you do realise the people who made it are the c64 demo sceners Ash & Dave ? zzap downrated it because they are idiots and didn't like the arcade machine.. great for £1.99!!
@cosine303 Wow, I did not even know that Ash & Dave were demosceners for the c64 home computer back in the day, as this was QUITE evident in the fact that they've created the demos "Electric Cafe" and "Digital Acid!" from back in the '80s days, apparently!! ^-^
Furthermore, I just saw the Zzap! review of Gaplus on the c64, and I am inclined to agree with you, plus that this was only £1.99 in cassette form indeed!
Really interesting bit of information by the way; thanks so much for that!!! ;)
Very nice. I also only just found out about this C64 version thanks to this video. I´ve been playing the arcade port on the Namco Museum 2 lately (which is great!) but will have to check out this version.
It`s cool that you gave so much info on the game -- I remember Maniacs of Noise and Jeroen Tel ... I loved their tunes!
At one time from around 1995/1996, Nintega, I thought so as well. That was until several years later, I eventually found out about the Commodore 64 version which was originally first released long before Namco Museum Volume 2 (which of course included the pure arcade-perfect version of Gaplus!) even came out at all!!
havent seen this game for years, i remember the loading music and there was a little icon in the corner which beat to the tune, thought that was great
the super ship laser sound sounds a bit like mario theme for some odd reason.
