with the manics they were always more than an ordinary band everybody knew that from the very beginning. Bit they have a story so powerful there should be a film based on them.
its great to see them get the award they had always deserved and it was for the FOUR of them not three.
Finally....how beautiful is it from 5:52 how the classical music and james' guitar go so perfectly together x x x stay beautiful x x x
i seen them at barrowlands 3 weeks ago, they are on top form at the moment, my favourite band of all time (even better than the clash.... just :) ).....
i am lucky enough to be seeing them in london.thanks to my friend mark,he has taken me to see them 3 times before, and they rocked on every occasion!!!thanks mate!!!!
they miss out the middle section of england. a HUGE amout. i live in a pathetic little city called york..can't manics come here, or leeds, even? that would be better to get to. they are not even playing sheffield or manchester...like, excuse me? what the fuck? i love manics soooo much, and i always miss an opportunity to see them
they need to play more gigs! i was very excited to see they had new gigs out, but then saw they are only in london, wolverhampton, dublin, glasgow, belfast and llandudno!!! i tried to see if i could go to llandudno, but then the train tickets were...too much...i am a lowly college student, i cannot afford to get to llandudno :(
I agree, i watched and re-corded the Manics Godlike Genius Award set when it was on tv last year, like you said so well deserved and loved the footage of the Manics showing them from the beginning with Richey up to the present day sadly without him, with words from Jo Whiley, Zane Lowe and the idiotic Steve Lamacq.
Yeah I just recently saw this Zane dude interview Morrissey and till then I'd never heard of him. He came across as quite a tosser and seemed to just go along with everything Moz said which is kinda lame for an interviewer.
Wow good to see such an awesome band get the props they deserve. I'm an American and their music rocks and also makes me think which is so rare. And I just love Nicky's crack about Gwen Paltrow!
I'm crying tears of joy as I watch this. They are so deserving of this award, which is IMHO long overdue. Much respect to Nicky, James, Sean (and Richey)!
Lol i was so sad i recorded this as i watched it so i could look back at it, such a wonerful moment, makes you proud to be a manics fan and have stuck with them x
Oh how i adore Nicky. He really does bring a tear to my eye, especially when he speaks about Richey; but then anytime Richey is spoken about it brings a tear to my eye. The Manics to my are the greatest band in the world and most important band in the world, well done boys. And yes i agree redrabbit84 we did all know! ;D
does anyone have a full version of this performance of motorcycle emptiness?

God Jo Whiley is annoying.
'I think the loss of Richey had a profound effect on the band really.'
Oh, really? Well how observant! I wonder how much research that quote took?! Moron.
